Disney Cool Weather Scarf/Bag Ideas and Giveaway!
I’m back with another look at some Disney styles, this time with some options for cooler weather and a giveaway of another Harveys bag! I want to start by saying thank you for the positive response to my “New Outfits for Disney” post! I was really surprised by how many people read the last post, so I just want to say I really appreciate your readership.
We are heading to Disneyland tonight and the temperature is supposed to be in the low 60s. The last post focused more on what to wear in warmer weather, but I get cold easily, and want to look at cooler weather options and also festive ideas for upcoming celebrations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. One of the best options for cooler nights and festivities in Disneyland is scarves.
I love wearing scarves during the colder months because they are easy to pack, practical to wear, and can add specific Disney flare to regular outfits. Scarves are also nice because you can wait to put them on until it’s colder at night, take them off if you are too hot, and trade them amongst friends.
Here are some ideas:
Season of the Force starts Monday at Disneyland, and I’m thinking about what ways I can infuse my outfits with Star Wars so they fit the celebration. I love my R2-D2 dress above, but it’s too cold in California to wear that now. I have been looking for accessories to wear in colder temperatures that fit the theme, and scarves are perfect.
Here are some options that I like:
- Star Wars R2D2 Viscose Scarf – This scarf would give personality to a solid blue, black, or grey outfit.
- Star Wars VII Vs. Foil Print Infinity Viscose Soft Scarf – The foil print scarf would look awesome with a black top or any solid color jacket.
- Polka Dot “Minnie Mouse” Infinity Loop Scarf – This scarf is an very inexpensive, fun way to add a hint of Minnie Mouse to any outfit. The scarf is very thin and great for cool weather but not to be worn for warmth frigid temperatures.
- Disney Lilo & Stitch Grey Scarf – I’m a huge Stitch fan and think this is such a cute scarf!
During the colder months, I like to layer my clothing. I typically throw scarves, sweaters and/or jackets into a backpack or messenger bag. I already have several bags and will share some in a later post, but I came across a cute Inside Out (great price!) and Little Mermaid Backpack on Amazon and thought I would share now:
I’m still in the process of deciding which other ones I will get. I’ll make sure to post in our “Outfit of the Day Thread” over on the Disney Tourist Blog Discussion Forums, so keep tabs there if you are interested.

YOUR THOUGHTS…
What did you think of these scarves? Any recommendations for scarves or other cooler weather accessories? Please share thoughts or questions in the comments.
Your outfits are always so cute! I think I might just have to buy the Minnie Mouse scarf 🙂
I love wearing scarfs in cool weather!
I also love scarves for the chill! And, ear warmers (headband style) that I can easily take on and off, and which look more cute to me than hats. Plus, they won’t squish all the curl from my hair like a hat would! I think I might rent a locker for avengers this weekend. That way I can have a change of warmer clothes right there for the cooler night weather.
love the Little Mermaid backpack! I hope it comes out in different prints!
I’m excited to see more outfit posts!
For cold weather in the parks, I’m a fan of layers. You never know what the temperature will be throughout the day. One tip… When i was a kid we used to keep all the heavier coats for evening in lockers during the day, then pick them up as it got colder in the evening. We’ll do that again for sure if we go to Disney in the winter!
Down jackets or vests that fold up really small are great layers! I have a Uniqlo ultra light down jacket that folds up pretty small and is light to carry around when I’m not wearing it.
Love love all of your ideas from previous posts, but especially this one. One of my faves is you red and white polka dot dress!!! I can’t find one anywhere!! Heading to disney in 7 days! This post gave me some great ideas! Thanks!!!
I love all of your style ideas! Hopefully we will get cooler weather around here soon–as someone else mentioned, it’s still in the upper 80 here in Florida. I love how pulled together you always look in your pictures. I am seriously lacking the fashion gene, but I want to learn!
layers layer layers!
One of my favorite outfits for warm days transitioning into cool nights at Disneyland was convertible shorts that rolled down into longer capris. Sarah, your outfits are so much cuter. But the functionality and comfort of day to night without a change of clothes, locker, or hotel was the best!
Thanks for all the great ideas Sarah! We’re headed to the Boardwalk Inn next week and now im excited to pack with your tips in mind!!!
I am now on the hunt for the Minnie Mouse inspired infinity scarf. That will make a great Christmas present for my 10 year old daughter. She LOVES Minnie and now also has a thing for infinity scarfs! This is going to be perfect. Thank you for the idea!! Our next trip to WDW will be in December, our absolute favorite time to visit!
I love the backpacks! Might pick one of those up for my boyfriend’s sister for Christmas (or, you know, just for myself)
Love the blog. Lots of great fashions for the parks
Well, now I’ll have to do some shopping – thanks for the ideas!
Hi Sarah!
My family is about to head to WDW for our first winter trip (early December). I’ve been buying light weight leggings, long tshirts, and sweatshirts or cardigans for layering. Although when I look at the current Orlando weather, it’s still in the high 80’s! So, my plans are pretty fluid as I may still need shorts! I typically wear crocs in the summer/fall (not for style but for comfort and rainy days). I just bought Crocs mammoth flats and really like them. They look great with leggings, are comfortable and better for winter months. I’m hoping they work out well for miles of walking! Thanks for the great tips and wonderful blog!
I always found layering was the key in southern California
I’ve never been to Disney n the winter. Oh how I want to! I
