Greetings from Tokyo Disney Resort!
Welcome…to Tokyo Disney Resort. (Read that like John Hammond in Jurassic Park.) We have made the pilgrimage to Japan to visit what many Disney fans regard as the pinnacle of the Disney theme park experience. Barring issues with our flights or our poor senses of direction, we are now at Tokyo Disney Resort to celebrate Tokyo Disneyland’s 30th anniversary, and to visit Tokyo DisneySea (where we will undoubtedly acquire at least 27 Duffy souvenirs).
We’re mostly disconnected from the rest of the world on this trip, but we (mostly Sarah) will be posting occasional photos to Instagram, assuming the modems we rented for our iPhones work. Further assuming that the nifty Instagram plugin works, you should be able to view our 20 most recent live photos from Tokyo Disney Resort on this post below. If for some reason photos don’t display below, or you want to see all of our photos from Japan (not just the Disney ones), follow us directly on Instagram: Sarah here or Tom here. Tokyo is 13 hours ahead of the east coast of the United States, so expect daytime and nighttime photos to be roughly reversed in terms of night and day back in the US.
In addition to these photo updates, we also have a few normal blog posts scheduled to post while we’re away. We’ll be sure to read your comments and reply to any questions you may have when we return.
For now, enjoy the Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea photos, and ‘See Ya Real Soon!’

Have ( hope you) had/have a great time! Sry for the delay in posting this :). By the way greetings from Disneyland California! I finally got my birthday trip!
I wonder if they made Partner’s Statue Walt kinda Japanese-looking on purpose…?
My wife and I just returned from TDR for the 30th Anniversary and it blows anything else away… It is incredible.
Hi Tom and Sarah,
Don’t know if you are still in Tokyo, but if you need any help with the language, making reservations, just e-mail me. I’m just down the road, 10 mins. away on the highway. This offer is most likely coming too late. Just for you to know your fans are around the world and willing to help!
Wow! So awesome you get to experience another Disney park. Enjoy and can’t wait for the report!
We have just moved to northern Japan and are already planning our trip down to Disney, so I’m SUPER excited to see the Trip Report from you two 🙂

No! Two words!
SHELLIE MAE
If you’re in Tokyo, get a boatload of Shellie Mae bears! She doesn’t exist in the states unless a tourist brings her!
Enjoy & please share a how-to guide upon your return. I’d love to take the trip but the thought of planning it seems overwhelming. Anyway, have an amazing time!
That sounds like an awesome trip!
You guys are so secretive! You didn’t even give your readers the slightest hint that you were heading to Tokyo! …I can’t wait for the Trip Report though – it’s gonna be the best one yet, I’m reckoning!
Really interested and hearing the reports on this one. The two Tokyo parks are on the bucket list. Have fun!
Ahhh. To be young and childless and travel at will! Have great fun in Japan and at TDR. Hope it lives up to what everyone says about it. It’s my request for a 40th birthday present from my family, so crossing fingers it happens. Enjoy and can’t wait for the photos and trip reports.
How cool your making the trip. I’ve heard so many great things about this resort. How long of a plane flight is that?
Tokyo Disney, I’m so jealous! Have a great time!
Enjoy your blog and great pics!! My wife has been a few times to Tokyo Disneyland and recommends the Little Mermaid show in the round. Different from DHS show…
Loving the live updates 🙂 Hope you two are having fun.
Wow!!!!! Awesome news!! Enjoy, can’t wait for a trip report!
Enjoy your trip! I can’t cait to read the trip report. 🙂
Can’t wait to hear all about this… and see the photos of course! Have a great time 🙂
Enjoy you two! I look forward to parade photos! Please let us know how the crowds, during shows, differ from crowds in The US. (People here are very “me me me”)
