20% Off Disney World Hotel Room Rates for Halloween & Holidays 2026
Walt Disney World has released resort room-only discounts for the remainder of 2026, covering travel dates from early October through Christmas Eve for the general public. This shares the special offers savings, a comparison to last year, commentary about extremely limited availability, sample pricing, analysis & other info.
This isn’t the only discount that’s currently available for October through December 2026. If you’re eligible for them, there are also better discounts for Florida residents and Annual Passholders, along with Disney+ subscribers. Of course, many of you don’t reside in Florida, and are not APs or D+ subs, making this your best bet.
Beyond that, there’s still the Stay Longer & Save Up to 30% running through October 3, 2026. Not to mention spectacular summer savings that (spoiler alert) far surpass this deal. For everything else, see All Current Walt Disney World Discounts in 2026. There are promos available for pretty much all dates between now and Christmas, so that’s worth checking out if you’re debating a trip anytime this year, except the week leading up to New Year’s Eve…
Here are the official details from Walt Disney World: Save up to 20% on select rooms with the Disney Resorts Collection this holiday season—for stays:
- Most Sunday to Thursday nights from October 4 to November 19, 2026
- Most nights (including weekends) from November 22 to December 24, 2026
Here’s the resort by resort savings chart provided by Walt Disney World:
Offer excludes the following room types: 3-Bedroom Villas; Club Level rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House; Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge; and Bungalows, Tower 2-Bedroom Villas and Penthouses at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.
Additional per-adult charges may apply if more than 2 adults per room at Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resorts and Studios at Deluxe Villa Resorts. Maximum length of stay under this deal is 14 nights. Cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
You can book this general public holiday 2026 discount directly here.
Reservations may be made online, by phone, or via your Authorized Disney Vacation Planner.
If you want to help determining which discounts are available for your travel dates and which resort will work best for your family, we highly recommend requesting a quote from Be Our Guest Vacations, a no-fee Authorized Disney Vacation Planner.
The agents there will do the math for you, booking your vacation with the best-available special offer, and monitoring your package for future discounts that can be applied retroactively. Beyond that, they help take the stress out of planning and will assist with itineraries, dining reservations, and much more.
Here’s a sampling of what we found for available rates for this discount:
This search is for the night of November 17, 2026. On the rack rate chart spectrum, this is the second-least expensive time to visit Walt Disney World in October to December 2026.
The least expensive rack rates dates will be most Mondays to Thursdays from October into early December during non-holiday weeks. Base prices are slightly higher (but still relatively reasonable) until mid-December. Depending on your resort and room category, the discount discrepancy could end up making the difference more or less a wash. (I found post-discount rates to be best during non-holiday weeks in October and November before Thanksgiving, but YMMV.)
Friday through Sunday nights are all going to be more expensive, and less consistent. In general, Friday and Saturday will be the most expensive days of the week, with Sunday through Thursday costing less–but still more than Monday through Wednesday nights. Holiday weeks–and dates closer to Christmas–are also more expensive. Basically, room rates are higher any time when kids are out of school.
For more on timing your trip to coincide with the lowest prices, see When’s Cheapest to Visit Walt Disney World in 2026? That covers price increases and other variables that impact the cost of a vacation beyond just room rates.
For reference, last year’s discount for Halloween and Christmas was up to 20% off resorts for stays most nights from October 12 to December 25th, with a lot of exclusions around holiday weeks. There were a bit more quirks to the special offer, but that was the basic contours of the deal. Many dates and resorts maxed out at only 10% off or were excluded entirely. Fans were not happy. This deal is less restrictive and technically better, at least on paper. In practice, well, reasonable minds may differ about that.
The two years before offered much better savings, with Deluxe Resorts maxing out at 30% off, Moderates at 25% off, Value Resorts at 20% off, and a final random tier of 15% off resorts. There were also dates with lesser savings, largely in October and November. Those years offered superior savings (and availability) to this late 2026 special offer.
We should note that the 2019 version of this deal maxed out at 20% off, so this discount for holidays 2026 is more or less return to Walt Disney World’s old normal way of doing discounts. (Plus a bunch of add-on fees we didn’t have back then.)
The actual dollar cost of rooms is all over the place, owing to the fact that this is the stretch of year with most variance in pricing, going from some of the lowest rate charts of the year to the absolute highest in the span of 3 weeks.
You can find Value Resorts starting at $134/night (although I couldn’t find Pop Century for under $214), Moderates at $272, Animal Kingdom Lodge at $416, and Deluxes around $500, but there are also dates when low prices are around double those numbers. And across the board, prices are higher than last year’s lows. In some cases, the differences are fairly negligible–including for our favorite week of the year. In other cases, they’re much more extreme.
If you need help choosing where to stay, be sure to check out our new Rankings of ALL Resort Hotels at Walt Disney World from Worst to Best. Several of the resorts mentioned above–and with the biggest savings–are in the top 10!
The bigger issue that pricing is going to be availability. As we are booking three separate stays during this date range, I’ve searched a more comprehensive list of dates than what’s listed above and, oof, availability is not great. To the contrary, it’s pretty bleak out there! To the point that it almost feels like all of the dates haven’t been loaded in yet.
On that note, disillusioned WDW dealhunters might find themselves choosing among the All Stars for this, wondering whether that’s an acceptable option. If you’ve heard horror stories about the All Stars or other fans turn their noses up at them, I’d direct your attention to this: Are Walt Disney World’s Cheapest Hotels Actually Good? (Spoiler: yes, they are.)
Moving up a tier, Coronado Springs and Port Orleans Riverside might be your only options (perhaps Caribbean Beach for a lot more). We are big fans of both resorts, but generally prefer Coronado for practicality and Riverside for its romanticism.
Then there’s Animal Kingdom Lodge as the least expensive option in the most expensive tier. I just got back from a stay at AKL this month, and despite some ongoing construction that did not impact my stay whatsoever, it was an exceptional experience. There’s a reason that resort ranks so highly, both for us personally and in our more objective rankings.
We’ll probably end up there again in November or December. You absolutely cannot go wrong with AKL; I can’t say enough positive things about that resort! (Don’t let complaints about the buses scare you.) The food is great, the resort itself is remarkable, and the savanna is the most unique feature of any hotel at Walt Disney World.
In fact, we highly recommend upgrading to a savanna view room if you can swing it, especially if you’ll be spending a lot of time enjoying the resort. Those often have plenty of availability via promos, and they’re one of the few splurges that we view as completely worth it. If that’s not in your budget, there’s plenty of savanna viewing from the common areas.
One thing we’ve openly questioned is whether economic uncertainty, consumer confidence, or international headwinds would finally impact Walt Disney World. While attendance and occupancy were down slightly in the last quarter, there hasn’t been nearly the impact as expected. Although initial availability on a discount is not necessarily indicative of anything, what we’re seeing so far sure suggests that forward bookings are strong.
This more or less comports with what Walt Disney World has stated publicly. To the extent that Disney has been adversely impacted by any of the above, it’s been almost exclusively among international visitors. Disney CFO Hugh Johnston shared during the earnings call that if you look at only domestic guests at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, attendance would’ve grown in Q2 as opposed to decreasing by 1%.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the next few months. Back in the spring, we published Why the Iran War Could Cut Crowds at Walt Disney World & Negatively Impact Your 2026 Travel Plans. Since then, airfare has skyrocketed and gas prices have hovered around $4/gallon nationwide. Fortunately, it seems like the worst of this might already be in the rearview mirror, as the United States and Iran finally have a (fragile) agreement that should result in a peace deal.
On the last earnings call in early May, Disney CFO Hugh Johnston indicated that Walt Disney World bookings are pacing up strongly for the next two quarters. No numbers were attached to this, we’ve already noticed that there’s limited availability for some resort/room/date combos for this discount.
That’s fairly common with the October through December promos, as it’s a fan-favorite time to visit. It’s difficult to complain that this discount isn’t that good on the one hand, and then turn around and also complain that availability isn’t that good. The latter complaint is precisely why Disney isn’t offering particularly stellar savings. They don’t need to.
Suffice to say, you should book sooner rather than later and be flexible in your resort and room preferences. There are a lot of times when we advise you to not be part of the ‘drop day’ madness, and instead sit back and wait out the chaos. This is not one of those occasions. For the best resort and room availability, we highly recommend booking ASAP.
Again, the final few months of the year are very different from the summer. What we’ve been seeing the last few months with last-minute deep discounts (and hopefully will again in August and September) is unlikely to repeat itself between Fall Break and Christmas. If you’ve been accustomed to waiting for better deals, you’re playing a dangerous game during the final three months of 2026.
Even during lower attendance dates from October through December, hotel occupancy (which is not indicative of crowds since most guests come from off-site) is high. We often book hotels last minute, and have gotten “stuck” at Coronado Springs or All Star Sports many times from October through December due to a lack of availability elsewhere. (A big part of those resorts being where we stay the most is lack of other options!)
Suffice to say, we would strongly recommend going into your booking with backup options. As with all Walt Disney World special offers, some resorts, room types and dates won’t be available. Based on what we’re seeing already, many options are already unavailable right from the very beginning (assuming you want a standard room). Flexibility is the name of the game when it comes to deals like this.
If your travel dates are flexible and you’re wondering which dates are best, check out our Best & Worst Weeks to Visit Walt Disney World in 2026 to 2028.
Four of our top 10 weeks of the entire year are covered by this promo, and as we explain in those rankings, another week during the holiday season would’ve probably made the list if we weren’t trying to spread out the dates a bit more.
That should underscore precisely why and how these dates between October and December are popular with longtime fans. These are qualitatively the best times of the year to visit Walt Disney World, and can be from a quantitative (crowds) perspective if you plan wisely. But I’m probably preaching to the choir–you are reading a Walt Disney World fan site, after all.
If you’re discouraged by availability and considering an off-site stay as an alternative, be mindful of Walt Disney World’s restrictions on parking and on-site transportation. Right now, this appears focused on parking at Disney Springs, and although that’s a big part of it, we believe there might be more of a tightening on resort hopping this holiday season. The easiest way to avoid this is via an on-site stay.
Of course, that isn’t the only reason to stay on-site. We’ve mentioned this several times, but Early Entry, free transportation & parking are alone perks that make it almost impossible for the budget-tier off-site hotels to beat the Value Resorts–or even a couple Moderates. With an off-site hotel, you’re paying for rideshare transportation or parking (at minimum), and that alone will usually be enough to bridge the gap. (It’s a different story at the higher end of the spectrum.)
The on-site advantage is also significant for certain restaurant (GEO-82, Beak & Barrel, Space 220 Lounge) and ride reservations. If you’re going to purchase the line-skipping service, having the 7-day window (plus length of stay–up to 14 days) is huge. It’s probably going to be make-or-break when it comes to booking high demand rides (e.g. Soarin’ Across America or Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets this summer). See our Lightning Lane Multi-Pass at Walt Disney World FAQ.
As usual, you can still do better with Disney Vacation Club Point Rentals–and that assumes you can find DVC availability in the first place. The only thing more difficult to book this time of year than standard rooms is DVC rooms. Occupancy on that side of the resorts is even higher from October through December. Trust me–the reason I’m pricing out regular resort rooms is because we’re waiting on waitlists that seem unlikely to come through!
If you’re on the fence, definitely do NOT wait for something better. Even though occupancy has been trending downward this year, that likely won’t hold true for the holiday season. As always, plan on being flexible with your hotel choice, room category, and even travel dates for the biggest savings. That’s doubly true here, as there have already been several discounts that have dropped for this date range–including the fan-favorite Free Dining deal (which ended early).
This should be an interesting saga to follow, and it’s almost certain that we haven’t seen the end of Walt Disney World’s efforts to woo back former fans, compete with Universal Orlando, and pull “levers” to incentivize more demand and guest spending. We will be closely monitoring what’s released and will notify subscribers of our free email newsletter when any Walt Disney World discounts are released or rumored!
