2027 Disneyland Resort Vacation Packages & Hotel Bookings Start Soon. Here’s What to Expect.

Disney has announced the release of 2027 vacation packages and reservations at the Hotels of Disneyland Resort. This post offers dates and details, and everything you need to know. Plus, predictions as to potential changes (including new onsite perks!), advice for booking next year’s packages, and more.

Let’s start with the basics. Walt Disney Travel Company vacation packages and Disneyland Resort Hotel room reservations for 2027 visits to the Disneyland Resort will be available beginning Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

These packages will be valid for arrivals January 1 through December 31, 2027 and full details will be available beginning August 25, 2026. Please note that the arrival date for vacations cannot be booked more than 499 days in the future. Bookings may be made beginning Tuesday online or via phone.

Beyond this, Disney has not released any details about the 2027 Disneyland vacation packages. This isn’t a huge surprise, as Disney often makes a “heads up” announcement followed by the release of specifics later. It’s possible those details could be announced tomorrow as bookings go live.

We would note that this is exactly what happened last year, when Disney announced One (1) Lightning Lane is Replacing Early Entry for On-Site Disneyland Guests in 2026. This is not a positive change–it’s one Lightning Lane per stay as opposed to Early Entry every day.

Along with that, Disneyland also announced that the Pixar Place Hotel entrance to Disney California Adventure would close permanently in early 2026 as construction starts on the Coco expansion, with no intentions to reopen. Pixar Place Hotel guests and Disneyland Hotel guests can now access DCA through the Grand Californian Hotel entrance.

These were two highly controversial changes that were met with fierce backlash by loyal onsite guests of Disneyland Resort. We heard from a lot of fans who swore off staying at one of the Hotels of Disneyland Resort as a result, and understandably so.

It’ll be interesting to see whether anything like that is announced when the 2027 Disneyland Resort vacation packages go live. My hope would actually be that, for 2027, “like that” means a consequential positive change enticing guests to book vacation packages, as opposed to a cutback.

It’s also possible that any major changes would be held until around the start of the new fiscal year. It’s often the case that Disneyland makes positive announcements regarding its future-year product offerings to counter the news of price increases. We wouldn’t be surprised to see that happen here. When more is revealed really depends upon occupancy projections, where any changes stand in development, and their relevance to resort reservations.

For example, if Disneyland planned on bringing back the long-defunct Disney Dining Plan, that would probably be revealed on August 25, 2026. That is something that’s integral to vacation packages, and is more likely to be captured during the initial booking process. (Just an example, not an actual prediction. I highly doubt the Disneyland Dining Plan ever returns, absent construction of 2-3 new hotels.)

The most obvious possibility is simply reaffirming that onsite hotel guests at Disneyland Resort can continue to enjoy existing perks in 2027. Perhaps that is extended to include early access to hard ticket events, such as Disneyland After Dark and Oogie Boogie Bash, similar to what Magic Key Annual Passholders already enjoy.

Another possibility is changes to Lightning Lanes. Disneyland is basically still using Genie+ but under a new name, and Genie+ is pretty much just MaxPass with some tweaks. And that’s pretty much the original paid FastPass, which existed alongside actual FastPass at one point.

Disneyland could make material changes to Lightning Lane Multi-Pass, adopting the pre-arrival system used by Walt Disney World or something else in order to juice sales and per-guest spending a bit. Personally, I’m skeptical of pre-arrival ever coming to Disneyland.

It just doesn’t make sense given the demographics of Disneyland. And again, because there are only 3 on-site Disney-owned hotels. That’s a big burden for a relatively low number of rooms, which is exactly why Early Entry ended and MagicBands never really caught on. If there is a change to Lightning Lanes, I could see it simply increasing to one per day for onsite guests, versus the current one per stay.

Another (very unlikely) possibility would be bringing back Early Entry.

I highly doubt this will happen. Disneyland wouldn’t endure all of that backlash last August, stick with the decision in the months that followed as opposed to backtracking “by popular guest demand,” only to undo the damage a year later after fan complaints had quieted down. But it’s always a possibility if occupancy is softer or Disneyland finds a way to work out a deal with Good Neighbor Hotels to make Early Entry viable.

Again, I highly doubt that happens in 2027…but I do think it’s possible that we haven’t seen the last of Early Entry and it returns down the road once more expansion comes online. I’ll put it this way: Early Entry’s eventual return is as likely as the Avatar experience opening before 2032.

As long as we’re daydreaming, maybe Disneyland will announce the rollout of MagicBand+ 2.0, proving the haters wrong. (Related reading: The Writing is On the Wall for MagicBands at Disney.) As one of the alleged haters, I don’t think that’ll happen. Any mention of MagicBands in a future announcement about Disneyland, even something as simple as interactivity with “Remember… Dreams Come True,” should be construed as a win among MagicBand fans.

Honestly, I’m not sure what else to expect from the 2026 Disneyland vacation package launch. I do expect there to be a “one big thing” announcement, whether tomorrow or as a make-good in mid-October.

This prediction is predicated on the practical reality that Disneyland needs more to serve as a draw in 2027. They’ve already confirmed that Avengers Campus expansion doesn’t open until 2028, leaving next year with the return of nostalgic, fan-favorite entertainment…and not much else!

With the Disneyland 70th Anniversary over, no new rides opening in 2027, and construction gearing up, Disneyland will need to do something in 2027 to maintain its current numbers. Maybe that thing will simply be more aggressive ticket and resort discounts, which is precisely what they did this winter and spring before pulling back on that approach for summer. Given that more recent move, we’d imagine there’s some degree of reticence about overreliance on discount (and there should be!).

As for actually booking 2027 Disneyland vacation packages, it’s always a ‘best practice’ to use a travel agent for Disney-owned resorts.

That’s especially valuable if you’re booking a 2027 Disneyland vacation package ASAP, as special offers likely won’t be available for next year’s travel dates until late September or October (and that’ll only be for the beginning of the year–discounts are released on a rolling basis).

Conversely, we never recommend booking Good Neighbor Hotel packages via Disneyland. And especially after Early Entry was retired, we’d advise most guests for whom money is an issue to stay off-site.

Either way, we do recommend booking sooner rather than later. Locking in your prices now is a great safeguard against future price increases, which are likely to happen during the first two weeks of October 2026. That doesn’t mean you need to be up bright and early on August 25, 2026 to get your reservation made ASAP. Unless you’re booking a special suite or ‘rare’ room type, that’s probably overkill.

However, you should get something on the books before October rolls around. You can always apply discounts as they’re released to reduce your rates, but you cannot time travel to book at “old” prices once the increase hits. Booking early is the perfect hedge to this.
