2017 Disney Deals for Black Friday Weekend
Black Friday is over, but the deals continue! This long holiday weekend is a great times to shop for travel, accessories, and Disney gifts for everyone on your Christmas list. In this post, we’ll keep a running list of Black Friday Weekend deals for Disney fans looking to save money on stuff and travel to the parks. (Last updated November 26, 2017.)
Last year, we only did a Cyber Monday list because–from our perspective–Cyber Monday had the better deals and Black Friday was mostly a marketing gimmick for people who inexplicably want to wait in long lines outside in the cold overnight. For 2017, more online retailers are getting in on the fun, and doing so the entire weekend long. (We also have a 2017 Cyber Monday Disney Deals post, too!)
In fact, 59% of Americans plan to shop online this weekend, marking the first year that more consumers are shopping online than in stores. In turn, this means more online retailers are offering Black Friday Weekend deals, which in turn means less standing outside in the cold. It’s really a win-win for everyone (well, except traditional brick and mortar retailers). In any case, here are the best deals we’ve found thus far for Disney fans…
Note that we’re posting this on Thanksgiving, and some of these deals have yet to go live (many start at midnight tonight). Moreover, many online retailers are not getting in on the action until Cyber Monday, or are saving their best discounts until Monday.
Amazon’s Black Friday Weekend Deals seem weaker than what you’ll likely see on Cyber Monday, when they traditionally have a ton of incredible discounts. Last Cyber Monday, there were a ton of discounts at Amazon on the items we have listed on our Ultimate Walt Disney World Packing List, and we spent [number redacted because it’s a little embarrassing] on things that could be characterized as travel accessories or “Disney stuff.”
Aside from Amazon, the go-to place for discounts for many Disney fans is going to be Disney directly, which is offering up to 60% off discounts this weekend on shopDisney with code AMAZING. There are even savings on parks merchandise, toys, and Christmas decor!
I’ll add/remove offers as new discounts spring up and disappear. Once Black Friday Weekend ends, Cyber Monday (week) begins. Suffice to say, there’s good reason why this is the biggest shopping week of the year, and there are a surplus of deals for the Disney fan! This includes a few hotel chains and airlines offering deals this year to Disney destinations–some of the prices on those are absolutely incredible.
A few of these things are also on our 2017 Christmas Gift Guide for Disney Fans, so double win! Okay, enough babbling–here’s the current list of Disney-related deals…
Disney Travel Gadgets
Anker PowerCore 20,000mAh Portable Charger ($32) — Anker is the most reputable name in chargers, and this is one of the smallest and lightest 20,000mAh External Batteries available. To put that number into perspective, it has over 20 times the capacity of a FuelRod. It also has high-speed charging technology, so it’ll charge you devices far faster. There’s also this super-compact external battery charger on sale for $11.60 if you don’t need as much capacity.
Large Packing Cubes ($18) – These are a mainstay of our packing list, and we like this set because they’re all the same size–which makes for an easier fit in the suitcase. So long as you don’t mind the red color, you can get an exceptional deal! (Other colors are a couple dollars more.)
10-Port USB Charging Hub ($15) – We recommend USB charging stations for travel since so many devices (phones, cameras, iPads, etc.) charge this way, and most Disney hotel rooms have a shortage of outlets. Be sure to click the coupon to save $3 dollars on this!
Fitbit Discounts ($50 Off) – Okay, so not directly Disney, but by far our favorite use of our Fitbits is in the parks (probably because that’s the only time we regularly log 20,000+ steps in a day!). They’re also great to motivate you to get ‘conditioned’ for those long days of commando touring!
70% Off Samsonite Luggage – We’re not huge fans of spinner suitcases, but these prices on 2-piece sets are so good that we might be able to look past that if we were in the market for new luggage.
45% Off Briggs & Riley Luggage – Still not fans of spinners, but Briggs & Riley is a great brand. If they’re your cup of tea, this is a solid deal.
For what it’s worth, the luggage brand we both swear by is TravelPro. At 75% off, the TravelPro Crew from Amazon is arguably a better deal than anything above. It’s slightly more expensive than bargain bags, but it’ll last for decades.
Disney Books & Movies
Maps of the Disney Parks ($17) – This is $40 in the parks. It’s not quite as good as the Poster Art book, but it’s definitely worth adding to your collection. Use code GIFTBOOK17 to save $5 on any $20 book purchase!
Art of Coco ($22) – Another book we recommend in our Christmas Gift Guide, this ends up being about 50% off after the coupon code. Tough to pass that up!
5-Minute Princess Stories ($5) – At 59% off this popular Disney book, you’re getting a really good deal on a stocking stuffer. It’s already temporarily out of stock, but you can still order it (for now, at least).
Various DVDs & Blu-ray ($5-10) – Target and Wal-Mart both have a variety of DVD/Blu-ray deals, which are mostly in-store online. The best deal (IMO) is Cars 3 at Wal-Mart for $7.
The Complete Toy Story Collection 1, 2, 3 [Blu-ray Box Set] ($25) – Individually, these Blu-rays cost more than the entire box set. Suffice to say, this is a hot deal!
Disney Toys
LEGO Disney: Princess Belle’s Enchanted Castle ($35) – As a total sucker for all things LEGO and a big fan of Beauty and the Beast, this set is another toy that makes me wish we had kids so I had an excuse to buy it for myself.
LEGO Star Wars TIE Striker ($35) – This Star Wars LEGO set is 51% off, which is an unheard of discount for sets like this! Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle is an impressive 45% off.
Sphero R2-D2 App-Enabled Droid Action Figure ($130) – Okay, so this is still a lot of money for an action figure, but hear us out: this is an app-controlled Sphero, which is the same company that made that BB-8 that everyone had to have a couple years ago. This R2-D2 is every bit is cool, and has a personality of its own. (For what it’s worth, we also own the Sphero Lightning McQueen, and while we love that, it’s controls are a bit wonky, and it’s more expensive.)
Funko POP! Star Wars: The Last Jedi Resistance BB Unit ($4) – Available for in-store pick-up at select locations, this Wal-Mart exclusive Funko is a great deal.
Dancing Baby Groot ($15) – This was also available at Amazon, but sold out quickly. Grab it while it’s still available at Wal-Mart!
Travel Deals
Hotels.com – Starting midnight on Black Friday and continuing throughout the weekend, Hotels.com will be giving out over 300,000 “Mystery Coupons” of up to 99% off. We scored a modest 11% off discount last year, and used that to book an already-discounted Disney hotel room!
Get Away Today Disneyland Deals – Adults tickets at kids’ prices on all 3 to 5-day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper tickets for 2018. This deal can also be stacked with hotel bundles to save even more. (And you’re also locking in ticket prices now before the inevitable February 2018 price increase.)
Wyndham Hotel Discounts – Two hotels near Walt Disney World are offering savings of up to 55% off through Cyber Monday. The one we recommend here is the Wyndham Grand Orlando Bonnet Creek (read our review here). This has a great on-property location, and for around the price of a Value Resort, is a bargain!
Singapore Air – One of the absolute best airlines in the world is offering roundtrip flights to Tokyo starting at $399 with code BLACKFRIDAY. This is a ridiculously good deal, and don’t forget that Tokyo Disneyland’s 35th Anniversary starts April 15, 2018!
Swan & Dolphin – SPG is offering a Black Friday sale that’s currently live, which includes the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin. In a few searches for dates we’re visiting next year, we couldn’t find anything that strikes us as a colossal deal, but perhaps you’ll have better luck.
Other Disney Stuff
Mickey Mouse Coffee Warmer & Mug ($9) – Currently 73% off, this is great for keeping our coffee warm. It’s a cheap add-on item and could be a great (albeit large) stocking stuffer or Christmas party gift!
Disney Eye Found It Card Game ($10) – A card game version of the standard board game that we normally recommend–and an even better deal (40% off).
Mickey & Minnie Christmas Sweater ($14) – There are several deals to be had on Disney Christmas Sweaters–and likely will be other deals on Cyber Monday. None of the other deals are as good as this one, which is $14 for almost every size. Perfect for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, or just the office Christmas party.
UNIQLO Disney Project – There’s a bunch of Disney stuff on sale at UNIQLO this weekend, including “Mickey Travels” designs. I picked up the holiday fleece today, and it’s literally the most comfortable shirt I’ve ever worn. Too bad it’s not socially acceptable to wear pajamas in public! 😉
That’s all of the currently “live” Black Friday weekend deals for the Disney fan, but we will be updating this list throughout the weekend and hopefully adding a ton to it once Cyber Monday gets started, so stay tuned. We expect a ton more deals to pop up between now and then, so keep checking this page as we add and remove deals as they are offered. Also, if you want to help out with the process, please share any Disney-relevant (either actual Disney products or ones that are useful when going to the parks) deals you’ve found in the comments!

Your Thoughts
What Disney-related items have you purchased during Black Friday weekend thus far? Anything you’re eyeing for Cyber Monday? Any questions about any of the items on this list? Are any of these deals dead (let us know so we can keep everything current)? We love hearing from readers, so please share some of your favorite holiday deals, or any other thoughts or questions you have, in the comments!
We are planning to take our kids to Didneyland Califorinia for Christmas. I have been waiting for a good deal so I have yet to purchase tickets. Do you know if there is a good deal on tickets for a family of 4 for 3 days at Disneyland?
My family are planning a vacation at Easter time 2018. Do you know of any discounts or specials?
I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think they’ve released any discounts into April yet this year. But they’ll probably come out early 2018.
Hi Tom,
I am an avid follower and trying to see if you have any information on any Disney Christmas card exchange groups/lists? I did this years ago and we loved it but I am having trouble finding an exchange this year. HELP!
In terms of photography gear for the parks, the Rokinon 12mm f/2 for the various non-full frame mirrorless mounts is on sale for about $70 off at $249. This lens has been on my radar for some time as an affordable, quality ultra-wide angle. It’s all manual-focus, but at such a wide angle of view it’s easy to zone focus. I imagine it would be a joy to use in the parks, especially with its lack of coma off of point light sources. (Mostly useful for astrophotography, but I think would be helpful for managing lamp light fixtures at night)
Definitely something to consider if one is using a Sony crop-sensor, Micro 4/3rds or Fuji. (Like me)
Excellent list! I have an Anker charger on my “must-have” Disney list, as well. I have an older model iphone and it barely makes it through the morning without dying, so the portable charger saves my day every time! Happy Holidays!
A few people have asked, so here are my thoughts on spinners:
1) Packable space is lower due to the wheels. (An issue for us since we only travel with carry-ons.)
2) More difficult to stack another bag on top. (My camera bag gets *heavy* and I like to put it on there sometimes.)
3) Incredibly frustrating to navigate around urban or uneven terrain.
If you’re using them casually or mostly at airports, I’m sure spinners are fine. I’m also a bit of a luggage snob: only black ballistic nylon luggage, no hard-shell bags, no gimmicks, etc.
Although ‘snob’ is a fairly strong word since the luggage I hate most is LV, and the luggage I use is fairly inexpensive compared to the top brands.
Thanks for explaining more! We have a carry on size spinner, and I don’t like that one. Thankfully it was cheap and is the kid’s luggage, which he can push around himself.
Thanks for the info. I hate playing the “will my rollerboard carry-on fit” game, so we check our luggage, even if we only have carry-on size (luckily, we usually fly Southwest). Our “urban” travel is usually the concourse at MCO or SNA. Before we decide to head to the cobblestones of Europe, we’ll reassess.
Hi, I am looking at Christmas ceramic bowl that is currently 20% off. I am hoping for a bigger drop on Monday? Any thoughts. Thanks
On shopDisney? We didn’t order anything that was only 20% off. Last year, their Cyber Monday discount was significantly better on most things. It’s possible Cyber Monday won’t be better (it won’t be at many stores), but that’s a chance we’re willing to take.
From our perspective, 20% off is the normal AP discount, so why bother?
Thanks Tom for the insight! I much prefer a deeper discount:)
Ps it was on shop disney
Out of curiosity, why aren’t you a fan of spinner luggage? To be fair, the biggest upsides for us are child related. When kiddo was small, I could handle two spinners and hold her hand (something I couldn’t do with traditional luggage). Now she’s big enough to push/ pull a spinner, but she’s not really tall enough to pull a traditional one. But I don’t really see a downside to them. What am I missing?
I’d be interested to hear more about this. We only recently switched to spinners, but I like them. Downside is you can’t easily stack a bunch of stuff on the handle to pull (kid suitcase, car seat) But other than that it’s easier to get around with a spinner
Spinners use up space that could be inside the luggage and don’t add any benefit (to me), which is why I didn’t opt for them.
When looking at “deals” on Amazon I would always recommend that you run the product URL through camelcamelcamel.com. You might be surprised at the results. It’s also a great way to watch for product price drops.
Cheers and Happy Holidays!
Glad to see the Anker recharger gets your approval. Picked one up earlier for our trip in a couple weeks.
I have an Anker charger a little larger than that one but only 16,000 mAh that I’ve used for a few years now. It works great and is essential for me in the parks.
