Open & Closed Restaurants at Disney World (2024)
This list of open & closed restaurants at Walt Disney World covers what’s operating in Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and resort hotels. We update this regularly, with info on what’s coming soon, newly reopened, temporarily closing, and more as of 2024.
The good news is that the vast majority of noteworthy dining options at Walt Disney World have now reopened. This includes Signature Restaurants, hidden gem counter service spots, and most buffets. On top of that, table service restaurants started filling more tables, improving their efficiency, and seating more guests per day.
On another positive note, Walt Disney World’s culinary teams aren’t quite as understaffed as they were the last two years. This is one of the big reasons why restaurants are able to fill more tables and increase their capacity. The same is also true at character dining experiences, where tables were removed to allow more clearance between characters and guests. That’s good news for those trying to score Advance Dining Reservations or walk-up availability.
Most Advance Dining Reservations are still more competitive than pre-closure, but many ADRs are getting easier to book. Some are still elusive, especially for larger parties. As such, it’s recommended that you book bright and early 60 days beforehand–and even that might not be good enough. These include Story Book Dining at Artist Point, Toy Story Roundup Rodeo BBQ, Space 220 Restaurant, California Grill, and a handful of other locations.
If you don’t make ADRs that far in advance, check out our Top 10 Tips for Difficult ADRs at Walt Disney World. With the exception of new or newly-reopened restaurants, we make the vast majority of our ADRs only a few days in advance (or even the same-day). This covers some of our hacks for reserving restaurants on shorter notice.
In more “mixed” news, the Disney Dining Plan is now back for 2024. This is great for Walt Disney World fans who love that pre-paid meal plan, but it’ll also increase demand for table service restaurants. The positive of this is that it could be another catalyst for Walt Disney World to restore missing meal services or bring back some of the remaining restaurants that are still closed. The negative of it is that ADRs could once again become more competitive.
With that out of the way, let’s start with some other updates…
Coming Soon
- Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs (BoardWalk) – Winter 2024
- Cake Bake Shop (BoardWalk) – Spring 2024
- Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge (Magic Kingdom) – TBD
Recently Opened
- EET by Maneet Chauhan (Disney Springs)
- Summer House on the Lake (Disney Springs)
Permanently Closed
- ESPN Club (BoardWalk)
- Big River Grille & Brewing Works (BoardWalk)
- Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show (Polynesian)
Current Closures
Magic Kingdom
- Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn
- Tomorrowland Terrace
Both of these have been seasonal for the last decade-plus, but neither have operated at all in the last 4 years. Normally, these would open for the weeks around peak season dates. That could happen for Spring Break 2024, but we’d be surprised. The week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve is more likely, but even that’s a stretch. Perhaps if Pecos Bills closes for transformation into Tiana’s Palace? Basically, who knows.
EPCOT
- Restaurant Marrakesh
Located deep in World Showcase’s Morocco pavilion, Restaurant Marrakesh is used as a free lounge during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Realistically, it probably won’t open until mid-2024 and maybe not even then.
Our expectation is that, whenever it does return, it’ll be a different concept. Disney took ownership of the Morocco pavilion a few years ago, and has quietly changed a lot since then. Turning this into Aladdin character dining to increase its popularity makes too much sense for Walt Disney World not to do it.
Resort Restaurants
- 1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian)
- Garden View Tea Room (Grand Floridian)
- Cape Town Lounge & Wine Bar (Animal Kingdom Lodge)
Grand Floridian is currently in the midst of a large-scale reimagining, and this is expected to encompass 1900 Park Fare and the Garden View Tea Room. That project has now moved into the main building, with work being done on the lobby. As such, we do not expect either 1900 Park Fare or Garden View Tea Room to return until at least Spring 2024. (And again, that’s at the earliest.)
Missing Meals
- Be Our Guest Restaurant – Breakfast
- Be Our Guest Restaurant – Counter Service Lunch
- Brunch at California Grill
- Plaza Restaurant – Breakfast
- Trattoria al Forno – Bon Voyage Character Breakfast
Be Our Guest Restaurant is still doing its prix fixe dinner rather than 3 distinct meals. However, its popularity has decreased dramatically, so we’re optimistic that it might return to normal at some point in 2024.
While open, Trattoria al Forno is doing a standard breakfast rather than its Bon Voyage Character Dining Experience. The major impediment to this returning and other character meals extending their hours is (still) staffing shortages. Fortunately, Cast Member morale is starting to improve and turnover is decreasing, so Walt Disney World should finally be able to hire and retain enough Cast Members to restore operational normalcy.
This is also why, for example, breakfast has been so slow to return to restaurants all around Walt Disney World. There’s more than enough demand to sell out of ADRs for all three meals well in advance–Disney is not voluntarily leaving money on the table; they don’t have enough Cast Members to work the shifts necessary to open for breakfast and lunch.
With all of that out of the way, here are the restaurants that are open at Walt Disney World…

Hi Tom. I live in the UK and absolutely love your updates thank you! Do you mind me asking for your opinion on Food & Wine festival dates over the next few years please? I know this year they were starting in July, but would you predict that being a one off to make up for all the renovations at Epcot, or do you think they may keep it that early in 2021 onward since I assume it’s a huge money spinner? Many thanks!
I think it’s a one-off.
I also love Columbia Harbor house. The only place I’ll eat except Casey’s. Hopefully they’ll be back at some point soon. The change to BOG is absurd. $62 for lunch? That better not last long. I absolutely loved lunch at BOG and the Turkey sandwich, Tuna salad. Just hope these are all temporary changes.
Did I miss the date where you can make a 2020 resort reservation? Just looking to get away and enjoy the resort and forego the parks.
When do you expect us to be able to make reservations? I am still only seeing Disney Springs restaurants available during our late August trip.
Everyone has Joy of Tea on *both* their lists. I’m hopeful it will be open – I need my Tipsy Ducks! Pizzafari’s closure was a surprise. Also gutted about Tusker – our family’s fave.
I am surprised Casey’s, Columbia Harbour House, Woody’s Lunch Box arent opening. But happy to see some other favorites will be available. Disney is trying to do the best they can with limited staff and all the guidelines they must follow.
No Teppan Edo☹ï¸â˜¹ï¸. Was to be my grandson’s birthday dinner. But I had not thought about the staff situation. Will have to come up with plan B. Now I am debating Epcot at all.
You are right about international In Epcot . I did the program few times and I worked in Italy epcot almost 4 years and right now all the staff is not there and visa can’t be issued . All the people are supposed to come are on hold and they don’t know if or when they can come to America . Basically or OP restaurants are closed . I believe Via Napoli would open with Italian staff that are now american resident , a lot of them was already work at tutto Italia and tutto gusto they just relocated on pizzeria
So in this its mentioned about it being a combination of Food and Wine AND Flower and Garden festivals at Epcot- does this mean they will continue selling the F&G merchandise? This is the first I’ve heard of it being combined and I know they removed a lot (if not all) of the garden pieces.
I had assumed all buffets would be closed. Now… when can we actually make reservations? Approaching 30 days out for my trip.
Definitely a bummer about Harbour House. And why no ice cream??
Yeah, I am really surprised to see Biergarten open. A buffet where you sit with other guests at one long table seems like everything you are not supposed to do.
There are reports the buffetts are slated to be family style. I assume that in the case of the German restaurant, it’s one party per table and 6ft distancing. Won’t know for sure until they open.
Most surprised by:
Columbia Harbour House- plenty of space to have distance seating, great menu. I’m curious as to what is causing this one to stay closed.
Oga’s Cantina– This place was fun but super crowded. We were seated with at least 3 other parties. Probably 10 people around one table. It’s very social, but not much room for distancing.
No school bread this trip…
I am devasted for Chefs de France to not be open. It was the most important one on our list . I have never been able to go there before not zi can afford it and can’t go. Are they opening some resort restaurants open, I sure hope so.
Honestly you aren’t missing too much. It used to be a really stellar restaurant but it’s fallen far in quality the last times we’ve visited. Not-good food, not-good service, just generally outshined by the rest of world showcase.
Any clue when we can start making reservations? How about booking online?
Teppan Edo, Yorkshire Fish, Woodys Linchbox, and Casey’s Corner (basic, I know) were 4 of our family favorites that will be missed. Was actually thinking that with the reduced capacity I may actually have a shot at getting inside seating at Casey’s!
Still anxiously waiting for Space 220. Had A November trip that thought might be a possibility. Then a March trip (the week leading up to park closing) where we figured it might be open. Now a July/August trip where it won’t be open. Next trip after that is October. Fingers crossed. Otherwise it won’t be until a year from now.
Columbia Harbor House! Boo! Thumbs down…
Ditto!!’
Agree! UGH….
*sniff*
Come back soon, Restaurant Marrakesh. Come back soon.
Bummer they aren’t opening Cinderella’s Royal Table, just without characters. Now I’ll just hype up Be Our Guest to my kids. We had that booked too anyway before all of this, but they were excited about doing both. Oh wellllll, now to rework what dining we want to reserve.
Thanks for always keeping us updated!
Too bad Monsieur Paul and Takumi-Tei are not opening. Monsieur Paul has been something we have done a couple times a year. I was really looking forward to getting to Takumi-Tei this trip.
Any word on other places such as Flying Fish and The Boathouse?
Tom,
Thank you for the extensive restaurant list that will be opened or remain closed. Like you, I was not surprised to see most of the Epcot restaurants on the list. I’m guessing – cultural representation has a lot to do with this. Take Takumi-Tei for example, I don’t think this meal could be replicated. On another note, I was surprised to see the Biergarten on your list of restaurants that are opening – as this too is a buffet. Surprising!
Biergarten- They are supposedly going family style.
I was surprised about Biergarten, too. I guess/hope they’re going to be seating groups at separate tables now – that was always the worst part of the experience for me. Not dining with strangers might be worth returning.
Tom –
Great information. When do you think we will be able tk book ADRs? Our trip is fast approaching in August.
Thanks!
Thank you for the list. Makes it easier to find things in one location. Is there a list with all the resort dining open and closures?
