Thanks and Merry Christmas!
We want to start by wishing each of you Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas. I’m not sure that I’ll get the chance to post again before Christmas (hopefully I will!), as we’re heading home to Michigan, greatest state in the union, for Christmas. We really appreciate all of your support this Christmas season, and we’ve been overwhelmed by the response to our Disney Christmas-endeavors. My Disneyland time lapse and Walt Disney World time lapse video have been popular on YouTube, and my eBook, A Disneyland Christmas, has been very well received.
Speaking of the eBook, again, thanks for supporting it. If you haven’t checked it out yet, Amazon Prime Members can now read it for free. If you have checked it out, I’d love if you would leave a review (good, bad, or ugly) on Amazon.com, which helps spread the word about the eBook.
I mentioned in my original post regarding the eBook that half of the proceeds from the eBook between the date it went on sale and December 23rd would be donated to Toys for Tots. Well, I didn’t fully think that through before posting, and I realized that if I waited that long, I would miss Toys for Tots’ deadline for annual donations. With that in mind, we purchased toys over the weekend to donate to Toys for Tots. Because I didn’t know what anticipated profits through December 23rd would be and because Amazon takes the majority (65%) of sales anyway, and I didn’t want to give a small donation, we decided to take all of the profits through this weekend and put the money towards toys for the charity (what we purchased is pictured above…you may notice a common theme!). Plus, we had heard multiple reports that Toys for Tots is having trouble meeting its needs this year, which is distressing.
I love Christmas. Everything about the holiday season is special to me. I believe every child should have as good of a Christmas as possible. Yet, even with Toys for Tots doing its absolute best, there are still a lot of people who have less-than-stellar Christmases. Because of this, and because I mostly wrote the book for fun, anyway, I felt compelled to offer more to help Toys for Tots with its mission.
I hope you feel compelled to do the same this holiday season, and give back what you can, whether it be monetarily or in the form of physical help, to whichever cause you personally support.
Again, thank you, and from the bottom of our hearts, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
