Our Best & Most Helpful Disney Blog Posts
Welcome to DisneyTouristBlog.com! We’ve noticed an influx of new readers recently, so we thought maybe introductions or reintroductions were appropriate. I’m Tom Bricker, the writer, photographer, editor, etc., and general mischief maker (together with my wife, Sarah) behind this blog. This blog is based on our first-hand experiences and opinions of things I encounter while my wife and I travel to the various Disney Parks around the world.
It’s hard to believe it, but this blog is over 6 years old. It’s basically a kindergartner, which is ironic, since it might seem like it’s written by one. It started out as a personal blog where we could organize our trip reports, some of my photography thoughts, and various other op/ed pieces, but has since grown far beyond that. It’s also arguably grown beyond the blog format, which can make it very difficult for new readers to find some of our older articles.
Hence this tour. This is meant to be a quick way for you to find some of our most popular and useful articles, organized by location. Heck, maybe even you regular readers will find something you missed.

Disneyland Posts
Being locals, we visit Disneyland on a fairly regular basis and update our info on even more frequent basis. Somewhat ironically, I first wrote my comprehensive Disneyland Resort Trip Planning Guide after we had only visited a couple of times, and it was primarily a post to implore Walt Disney World fans to visit Disneyland for the first time. A lot sure has changed since then! Here are some other key posts concerning Disneyland:

- When to Visit — Disneyland is busiest when school is out of session; this post covers avoiding crowds then, plus when you’ll actually want to visit.

- Ultimate Guide to Christmas at Disneyland – Christmas is my favorite time of the year at Disneyland, and this features tips for everything from Haunted Mansion Holiday to the must-try holiday snacks, and more.

Tokyo Disney Resort Posts

Although Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are literally halfway around the world, they are my two favorite Disney Parks. I’ve visited several times and have written a ton of posts in the hopes that other Disney fans will travel to these great parks. My Tokyo Disney Resort Trip Planning Guide is a great starting point for planning, and these other posts are also helpful:
- Tokyo Disney Resort on a Budget – Traveling to Japan isn’t cheap, but it also isn’t as expensive as many people assume. Here’s how you might be able to make a trip fit your budget.
- Restaurant Reviews – I’ve dined at almost every restaurant in Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. I’m slowly building an index of reviews, which you can read here.
- Why Tokyo DisneySea is the Best Park – The post that will put the Japanese parks on your bucket list if they aren’t already there.
- Airfare Hack for a Multi-Stop Trip – There are a lot of little-understood airfare rules that can enable you to visit Aulani in Hawaii, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Tokyo Disney Resort all for the price of one flight!
Other Destinations

We cover almost every Disney Destination on this blog, but for some places, our coverage isn’t quite as comprehensive. Here are our noteworthy posts from other places:
- Disneyland Paris Trip Planning Guide – I’m currently a Disneyland Paris Annual Passholder, and this is my comprehensive guide to that resort, which is located just outside of Paris, France.
- Hong Kong Disneyland Trip Planning Guide – The smallest Disney resort in the world, and one that we feel is underrated. We’ve visited at Christmas and Halloween, and this covers our tips for visiting.
- Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa Trip Planning Guide – Disney’s Hawaiian resort is a beautiful and huge place that is well-worth seeing if Hawaii interests you. Here’s what to do while there.
- Restaurant Reviews – An index of all restaurant reviews, including those from Paris, Hong Kong, Aulani, and the Disney Cruise Line.

- Facebook – My photos and links to posts get shared here, and it’s an active place for conversation among readers.
- Pinterest – I post links to our articles, my photos, and other cool Disney finds that I stumble upon on the internet.

Your Thoughts
We’d love to hear your feedback. Which type of post on the blog do you like most? Which type do you like least? What would you like to see more of? Need help finding anything or answering a question you have about vacation planning? Any other thoughts, questions, or comments?

Check every day for new blogs! Keep the Tokyo stuff coming so I can live vicariously through them! Also, more WDW trip reports!
You’re my very favorite Disney blog site. I love the lightness and humor you inject into each article. Which brings me to the next subject…the topics you select to talk to us about are timely, informative and interesting. (Sick of the love fest yet?). Lastly, I love your dedication to all things Disney. (Oh, and I also love Sarah’s outfits.) Thank you for bringing some lightness into my life and I’m sure, the lives of many others.
There, I’m done.
The giveaway is great! Love reading about your travels and your awesome photography!
All I can say is thankyouthankyouthankyou for taking the time to do what you do… I’ve been a fan for almost 2 years. I started out obsessively reading the trip reports, and the rest is history! 🙂 It’s gotten to a point that when I talk to my boyfriend about plans for our next Disney trip I say ‘Tom and Sarah recommend…’ when I used to just say: ‘on this blog I follow….’ I truly think I would be tongue tied if I actually saw you guys in the park… Star Struck!
Cough cough, anyway, not to be such a creep, but this blog helps every trip be just a little more magical! 31 days until we’re in the parks!
I love reading your stories but am in awe at your photography.
Aww come on! What’s not to like? I am totally embarrassed to admit that I check your site nightly for any new postings.
I like the food/hotel/attraction/photos/overseas reviews! Did I miss any?
I enjoy seeing the pics of you and Sarah (she is the only woman I have ever seen wearing dresses at Disney and rocking them!) I think the reason I enjoy seeing your self-pics is it is so cool to see a young couple with the resources and time to be able to enjoy yourselves while you are young. My husband and I, 65 and 55 are brand new DVC members this year and are beginning phase 2 of our life adventures and I utilize your blog site constantly for new ideas to keep it fresh!(at Disney!)
Hi Tom!
I’ve been following DTB for I guess about two years now. I got hooked on your trip reports and spend a good few weeks reading them in depth. Despite all your jokes to the contrary, you’re a great writer with a voice I really respond to. It doesn’t hurt that you’re writing about one of my favorite subjects 🙂
I’m curious about your recent move to California. Was it Disney-related? I know you guys mentioned wanting to move to Florida many moons ago. It’s obvious your site has seen a lot of success, I was wondering if you were able to make your living with DTB?
Sorry, so personal. I’m just venturing out into online business so I look to successful bloggers as inspiration. Anyway, thanks for what you do!
The move was not Disney related. While we are in Orange County, we are a decent distance from Disneyland. I don’t recall wanting to move to Florida, but don’t doubt that I said it…at one point, I would have wanted to move to South Dakota just to get out of Indiana! 😉
The site is incredibly successful–far beyond my wildest dreams–but I am still a practicing attorney. I just work remotely, which I pretty much did before moving. The move was motivated (at least in part) by another non-Disney, non-legal dream of mine. Sorry, not going to discuss that any further, as it’s one of those things that most likely won’t happen, and if/when it is clear that it won’t, I won’t feel like a huge failure if I haven’t told others.
Thanks for your response! I’m so happy the site has done so well. It really is a testament to the quality you bring to your photos and writing.
Best of luck on your secret dream! 🙂
When did I miss the news you moved to Orange County? I guess that explains the ability to do all the local hotel reviews.
Long time follower, love this blog! I think I may have upwards of 100 Tom Bricker photos on my phone. Not OF Tom Bricker, taken by Tom…stepping away from the creepy comment now.
Add me to the list of loyal followers of all things Bricker!
THIS may be the greatest post ever. But really, my favorite posts are loaded full of photos. On days I’m stuck inside my office (in a aromatic hospital basement) I could sdroll through those “Beauty of Aulani” shots all day. Oh, and I also enjoy posts with retro references to poorly written 90’s pop and R&B hits. Keep up the great work!
I just want to say Thank You!!! Your site is awesome and provides a ton of knowledge and information to new visitors and seasoned Disney fans. Please keep up the awesome work. If people follow your advice, even just half of it, they will have a wonderful time and visit.
The only request I would make is when doing your photo reviews and what you should bring. Can you provide more knowledge for users who are starting in photography. Like using a D3200, the kit lens, and camera settings. I wish Disney would let you offer a photo class in the park I would be first to sign up.
Thank you again and I enjoy reading your blog at least once a week.
Robert
PS- In ‘other post’ section can you please add proper etiquette at a park, stopping six people wide to read a map on a three person sidewalk is not ok.
Hi Tom and Sarah! My husband and I love everything about your blog. My favorites are the photography based ones, equipment and such. For planning nothing beats your reviews. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us and keeping this blog going strong.
Thanks for the chance to win the bag too!
Diane and Mike
i love your blog! In my spare time I’ve read all of the trip reports and I actually keep up with you via Pinterest. Your humor always makes me LOL! I’m so jealous of all the adventures y’all go on! My boyfriend and I hope to one day go to Tokyo Disney because of you!!! Lots of love from NJ
I have been following your blog for several years now, long time fan of your articles and photographs!
Your blog has been one of the most helpful sites I’ve found on the internet, and helped me in making my first trip back in December the most amazing trip I’ve had in my whole life! And your photography just inspires me! Keep up the amazing work! 🙂
Long time reader here. 🙂 I love your trip reports (that is what hooked me in the first place!) & your new Disney Rumors posts as well. Any articles that are review or tip driven are awesome too. My husband & I are traveling to WDW in October and your advice/posts have been like gold!
Been reading your blog for several years now, and still check it daily for updates. The site has been very helpful in helping us plan our first trip to Disneyland (we live in Tampa) later this year, so thank you for all you do!
Favorite type of post has to be the trip reports, followed by the photography posts (tips, reviews or just sharing photos.) Also enjoy posts that include news and rumors with your opinions about both. And I REALLY enjoyed the Disney Parks Pet Peeves and The Essence of the Disney Parks’ Magic posts. Keep up the awesome work!
I would love more posts with pics of the rides. They make me happy 😉
Love this blog! My favourite posts are the ones that feature special/seasonal parties at Disney World, and posts about Toyko Disney. 🙂
