2026 Free Dining at Disney World Dates, Predictions & Info

The Free Disney Dining Plan is a popular Walt Disney World vacation package discount. This covers 2026 dates, deal rules & requirements, predictions & rumors for future dates, and answers to questions including whether Free Dining is “worth it.”
If you’re unfamiliar with the Disney Dining Plan (DDP), we’d direct you to our comprehensive Guide to the 2026 Disney Dining Plan. That covers the basics, what the DDP includes, how it’s changed since returning last year, and more. It also breaks down the value of the Disney Dining Plan and whether the paid version is worth the money, and much more.
The bad news is that Free Dining is no longer available to book for this year. The good news is that it did return, and with the most dates in about a decade, which bodes very well for next year! If you want to be notified immediately when 2026 Free Dining discounts are released, sign up here for our FREE Walt Disney World newsletter.
We’ve consistently notified our subscribers when Free Dining and other Walt Disney World deals are going to drop. Either in advance of their release or on the day they go live at ~7 a.m., which typically gives you a 2+ hour head start on Disney’s official announcement. That may not seem like much, but it makes a huge difference when booking–it means that you won’t have to wait on hold for hours on the phone or in a long virtual queue online.
In the last several months, Walt Disney World has released over a dozen different discounts. There are even targeted deals available through late 2026. This is a huge change as compared to 2021-2022, when many dates didn’t have discounts at all due to revenge travel and guest spending being so strong. That coupled with capacity is why the Disney Dining Plan took so long to return in the first place. Those are both non-factors now, and things are more or less back to 2019 norms.
This is all relevant to the return of Free Dining in 2026 because the deal is not offered out of corporate benevolence, but as an aggressive move to help boost resort occupancy numbers. That wasn’t necessary for the last couple of years due to pent-up demand. However, that has changed significantly, and now Walt Disney World is pulling several “levers” to try to incentivize demand.

As always, we’d recommend requesting a FREE no obligation quote from Be Our Guest Vacations, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and having those travel agents book for you. They’ll assist you with the planning process, help you choose the most economical dates, best add-ons, etc.
Equally as important, they’ll help you with discount comparison shopping. There are a ton of different discounts currently available for Walt Disney World in 2026, and many of these deals are better than Free Dining for many–if not most–guests.
That just scratches the surface of what will be released throughout the year, just what’s already available. It’s likely there will be 3-4 more discounts released in the first week of January 2026, including Free Dining–but more on that below. Pointing being, what you see now isn’t everything that’ll be available for your travel dates.
On that note, here are some predictions about 2026 Free Dining at Walt Disney World…
2026 Free Dining Forecast & Rumors

We want to start with blunt words of warning: it’s difficult to make 2026 Free Dining predictions.
The reason for that is simple, which is that the biggest change with the 2026 Disney Dining Plan is that Kids Eat FREE All Year in 2026 at Walt Disney World. Throughout all of 2026, guests staying at one of Walt Disney World’s more than 25 on-site Disney-owned resort hotels will get a FREE Disney Dining Plan for their kids (ages 3 to 9 at the time of travel) when purchasing a Disney Dining Plan as part of their package for the other members of their party (ages 10 and up at the time of travel).
The Free Disney Dining Plan included in this special offer depends on the Disney Dining Plan the adults in the party purchase. The Disney Dining Plan is included for kids ages 3-9 when purchasing a regular Disney Dining Plan for guests ages 10 and older in the party. The Quick-Service Disney Dining Plan is included for kids ages 3-9 when purchasing a Quick-Service Disney Dining Plan for Guests ages 10 and older in the party.

The Kids Free Dining Plan at Walt Disney World deal can be combined with other select special offers, meaning you may still be eligible to take advantage of other deals released for 2026. Already, we’ve seen all 2026 room-only discounts eligible to stack with the Kids Free Dining Plan offer, from bouncebacks to general public discounts. Even DVC point rental is eligible for the Kids Free Dining Plan!
However, because the Kids Free Dining Plan is the baseline for 2026 and not a special promotion, it’s difficult to see how Free Dining fits into the picture. Maybe it’ll simply be offered like normal without any changes, in which case, Free Dining will be a worse deal for many guests since they’d be better off taking the Kids Free Dining Plan plus a room discount and paying for their own food.
Alternatively, there will either be changes to Free Dining to make it more attractive to families (and competitive with other promos) or it’ll be abandoned entirely as a special offer. I’m skeptical that Walt Disney World will ditch Free Dining, as it’s own of their most recognizable discounts of the year–few phrases are more powerful marketing than “free food.”

Assuming that Free Dining does return in 2026, it’s likely to be released in multiple waves once again.
The first will likely be announced in late December of this year, and bookable starting in early January 2026. Eligible travel dates will likely span from around Memorial Day through August 2026 (prior to the start of the off-season), with possible blockouts during peak weeks. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if Independence Day is not blocked out, as that has become less and less busy over the years.
Finally, the first wave of 2026 Free Dining will likely be bookable for roughly one month. This won’t be noted up front–it’ll just quietly disappear from the available offers page. It’s also likely that this first wave of Free Dining will not be targeted, but instead, available for the general public to book. These are hardly bold predictions–this is based purely on past precedent.
To address this, Walt Disney World has been releasing more discounts. They’re doing it out of necessity. This is something we’ve documented, and we’ve repeatedly pointed out that they’re pulling from the 2019 playbook for discounts. That 2019 playbook included Free Dining.

Following this first wave, we fully expect a second wave of Free Dining for dates that are later in 2026. This is likely to become bookable between mid-March and April 2026.
The main reason Walt Disney World would not release discounts all at once for May through December 2026 relates to resort occupancy numbers. The company is really good at projecting hotel bookings, but it’s just like a weather forecast–more accurate as dates draw nearer and less accurate further into the future. Walt Disney World only wants to offer discounts as necessary to fill hotel rooms, so they release discounts in phases.
The most reliable set of second wave dates for Free Dining are usually in August to late September. Those dates are the slowest of the year at Walt Disney World, and have been the most common and consistent for Free Dining. Expect a second wave of Free Dining to encompass these dates during Fall 2026.

The second wave of Free Dining also might include portions of October, minus holiday weeks and fall break.
A scattering of November and/or December dates could be available again, and there’s likely to be a stretch in December after (but not including) the first week and running until as late as December 23, 2026.
One wrinkle with subsequent waves is that they could offer different guest eligibility. It’s possible for the second wave of Free Dining to be targeted towards only Disney+ subscribers or Disney Visa Cardholders, and have a few ‘borderline’ weeks when occupancy is reasonably high (e.g. select dates in October through December). Then a week or two later, the general public wave of Free Dining could be released that doesn’t include all of these dates.
Obviously, this is only a prediction–the actual dates and details of future waves of 2026 Free Dining could vary a little or lot, and it’s entirely possible that nothing is released at all! But we highly doubt it.

Again, we want to emphasize that this is not a rumor–it’s simply us analyzing resort bookings and past precedent on discounts, and making an educated guess. August and September usually have the best discounts of the year since demand is lowest, and we’d expect that to be true again in 2026 especially as Universal’s Epic Universe continues to make the marketplace more competitive and nothing new is opening at Walt Disney World. October through December are usually busier, hence the potential targeting of Free Dining during those dates.
Disney also likes high levels of per guest spending numbers, and no other special offer helps achieve these high per caps like Free Dining. Despite “free” being in the name, it’s an advantageous promo from Disney’s perspective because it locks guests into full-price hotels and tickets. It also keeps guests on-site for the most part, since they have “free” meals at Walt Disney World. No other discount accomplishes all of these important goals for the company.
Either way, will be closely monitoring the 2026 Free Dining situation, keeping our ears open for more news about a return of Free Dining. Should something–anything–be released or rumored, we’ll send you an alert if you sign up for our FREE Walt Disney World newsletter.
We’ve consistently notified email subscribers when Free Dining and other deals on the day they go live at ~6 or 7 a.m., which is a 2+ hour head start on Disney’s official announcement at 9 am. That makes a huge difference when booking Free Dining–you won’t have to wait on hold for hours on the phone.
Free Dining FAQ

Free Dining is Walt Disney World’s most complicated promotion, and can be a huge headache to book. Between limited availability and navigating a seas of rules and restrictions, it’s easy to make mistakes. This section of the post covers the rules, terms and conditions, and policies that generally govern the Free Dining promotion.
We always recommend that Walt Disney World first-timers (or regulars who just don’t want to deal with the hassle) request a FREE quote from Be Our Guest Vacations, an Authorized Disney Travel Planner. Most legit travel agents do not charge for booking Walt Disney World vacations (and you don’t pay a premium for them–Disney pays them commission), so that’s really the easiest way to go.
With this special offer, Walt Disney World guests booking vacation packages with non-discounted resort hotels and park tickets receive the DDP for each member of their party for no additional charge. For obvious reasons (who doesn’t love free food?!), the promotion is incredibly popular and some resorts that offer free dining tend to sell out quickly.
Guests booking the Free Dining promotion for Value or Moderate Resorts will receive the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan, with guests staying at Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resorts receiving the standard Disney Dining Plan.

There are some room exclusions for the Free Dining promo: 3-bedroom villas, campsites, Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Wilderness Lodge, Bungalows at Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, and Little Mermaid Rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
These resorts and room tiers are all not eligible for Free Dining. Additionally, room inventory is limited across all resorts. In practice, this means that when you go to book, a particular category (standard view, garden view, etc.) may not be available for your travel dates–or your travel dates may not be available at a specific resort at all.
To take advantage of Free Dining, there’s also the requirement that guests purchase tickets that include either a minimum 4-day Park Hopper or the Park Hopper Plus option. Additionally, a 4-night minimum stay is required with a maximum stay of fourteen nights.
This means you can’t purchase discounted Walt Disney World tickets from an authorized reseller, which we normally highly recommend in our Walt Disney World trip planning advice. This is something to keep in mind when doing the math to determine if “Free Dining” is a good value for you.

When it comes to Free Dining, doing the math is incredibly important. Other discounts (such as a room-only discount) might be better for your family. Remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch; you have forfeit an alternate discount to qualify for Free Dining. We break down some of the math in our “Is Free Dining Worth It?” post.
If you have already booked a vacation package with an arrival date that qualifies for Free Dining, we recommend using the “modify reservation” link in your booking to apply the promotion to your package. This is the quickest and easiest way to apply the promotion.
You might see other advice that recommends calling to book Free Dining. This is outdated. If you call Walt Disney World’s reservation line, you will likely wait on hold for an hour (or hours) until you’re able to speak to an agent. Booking or modifying your reservation online is far quicker and easier.
Even if the online system crashes (which has happened) or moves slowly due to all the traffic, it’s easier to just keep trying online. Unfortunately, booking online isn’t always possible and technical errors do happen…so you might have to call and wait on hold.

If you are wondering which hotel to book for the Free Dining promotion, check out our new Best Walt Disney World Hotels for Free Dining post. It gives our preferred option for each resort tier. Oh, and don’t forget to make some ADRs for the best and most popular Walt Disney World restaurants.
With this Free Dining offer, Value and Moderate Resort guests receive the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan during the promotion. Guests at Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts receive the standard Disney Dining Plan.
We highly recommend making Advance Dining Reservations as soon as possible. Yes, even before Free Dining is offered, if you can. Everyone gobbles up the good ADRs quickly for Free Dining dates, so if you don’t book early, you will be stuck eating counter service or unpopular restaurants for the duration of your trip.
To answer some other common questions: yes, you must purchase tickets with the offer even if you already have them (or an Annual Pass). No, bookings made with Disney Vacation Club points are not eligible for the offer. No, you cannot “stack” this offer with a percentage-off room discount (at least not in the U.S.). For those wondering about other Walt Disney World discounts, check out our Current Walt Disney World Discount Offers post for what’s presently available.
For details about which tier of the Disney Dining Plan includes or for recommendations about which restaurants to book to maximize your use of the DDP, please see our comprehensive Disney Dining Plan Overview Page.

Note that the Free Disney Dining Plan promotion is always based upon arrival dates. For example, if Free Dining runs June 27 to June 28 and you arrive on June 28 and stay until July 5, you are eligible for Free Dining–even though it’s blocked out for July 5 arrivals. (You didn’t arrive on July 5 in that scenario–you arrived in June.)
However, if it’s offered those same dates and you arrive on June 26 and stay for the same dates, you are not eligible for Free Dining, even though more of your stay falls during an “eligible” period than the first example’s. The work-around for this is doing a split stay, with the ineligible arrival nights part of one vacation and a second vacation starting at the first valid “arrival” date and continuing thereafter. Again, arrival dates are what matters with Free Dining.
In the section below, we have historical Free Dining dates for the last few years. The rest of what follows is historical information about the Free Disney Dining Plan promotion…
Historical Information

The following is not pertinent to current bookings, but we have found that readers find it useful to have details about past Free Dining promos when planning for the future and what to expect. Note that the dates are pretty consistent from year to year, with slight shifts for holidays, weekends, and special events, or other things that may be excluded from the Free Disney Dining Plan promotion.
Last year, there was no early booking window for Disney Visa cardholders, but there was an expanded date range (see below). The two years before, Disney Visa cardholders did have an early booking window. Exact dates are listed below. Most years, the general public is able to book Free Dining packages 5 days after Disney Visa cardholders can book.
In years past, Free Dining has been announced in late April, with booking opening first for Disney Visa credit card holders and the general public a few days later. The last couple of years, there was no early window for Disney Visa cardholders.

Your Thoughts
Do you think Free Dining will be released again in January 2026? Or will a rising tide lift all ships and result in Walt Disney World not “needing” to get that aggressive with deals thanks to Epic Universe? Are you a fan of the “free” dining promotion? On your page here you have that the free Disney dining plan is in October and November. When we call Disney they say that they don’t know if there will be a free dining plan or not in those months (2013). How do we know if there will be a free dining plan or not? We are trying to figure out what days to book our vacation, and don’t want to find out too late that the free dining is one week off from when we book.
Are you saying that there could still be free dining during the 1st week of December even though the current offer excludes it? Or, should I expect not to get it at this point?
The free dining is absolutely worth it. One year we payed for the dining and we saved every single recipet of ours and it was still a huge savings
Have they offered the Free Dinning Plan in January in past years. We may take the December offer but January would better suit us.
I have a question that goes along with Deb’s comment. If I booked my trip before they announced the free dining dates, but then realized after they announced that the dates coincide with my trip, would they let me rebook with the higher room rate and free dining?
I also booked before free dining was announced. When I called to see if I could get it, I had to switch hotels but I did so gladly because the savings were big!
Sometimes you don’t even have to switch! Just depends upon availability with the discount.
How is it chearper? Disney told my agent, I was sitting in the room when she called, it would cost me to move to another resort. I check in on 28th @4pm, but they wouldnt let me start the dining because it starts on 29th.
I have had my reservation since beginning of year before anything was mentioned about free dinning, I missed the first round by a couple days. Check-in is for Saturday Sept.28th, now I missed it by one freakin day. 10 of us are going and that would have been a huge savings for my family. So I asked if I couldnt drop Sat and arrive on Sunday, well then they said my room rate would go up, (I suppose to cover the so called free dinning) and my agent said I just needed to stay on my original reservation and pay full price… I think this is all so underhanded for Disney to offer this and make ppl believe they are getting something when they are actually paying for it thru the room rate…needless to say this will be our last family trip to Disney, we will go elsewhere to spend my $$$$$ next year.
This doesn’t sound right. Is your original room rate actually full price, or did you receive a percentage-off discount? If you received a percentage-off “room only” discount, you lose that if you book free dining. You can’t double-dip on discounts. If you’re truly paying full price for the room, you might want to check with a different travel agent.
No room discount, I was paying full price for all 3 rooms, Sat and Sun was more and Monday-Friday was reg. price. That is what didnt make since, I guess because of the air fare was for Saturday…but Disney cut it off 25th and started back up on 29th. I went in to travel agent and canceled dining plan, we are one meal away from the free dining, I am not paying if they are giving it free to everyone else all week, so I will order from grocery store and delivery service…not cheap, just pissed.
Its not the room rate, agent said it was the hopper pass that would have increased so much that it would have changed any savings I would have gotten from the “free” dining, is that true or am I being scammed by the travel agent? They said Disney pays them.
Any reason why free dining was not offered for the week of Oct. 14th??
I don’t know of any events going on that week, but it’s only offered when Disney “needs” to offer it to give hotel bookings a spike. So the general reason would be that bookings were deemed sufficient for that particular week.
We have an existing reservation at Coronado fro Oct. 19- with the dining plan. We’ve made our restaurant reservations as well. My hope was that free dining would be announced and I would be able to modify my reservation when that happened.
I reserved based on last year’s dates. What are the odds that they will add dates later, if you know?
I think it’s unlikely additional dates will be added.
Many schools are out on fall break, Oct US very limited on discounts.
I see it states minimum three days to be eligible. We were planning on stayin at the resort three nights but only getting a 2-day pass. Would this mean we aren’t eligible? Thanks! First time found WDW as an adult and parent!
In the past, you’ve only had to purchase 1-day tickets for each person regardless of the duration of your trip (with the minimum hotel stay being 3 nights). So you should be fine.
Hi I was just wondering if it was possible to upgrade from the free quick service plan to the dining plan at check in or does it have to be done before?
Has to done before. You can’t make any changes to your reservation once you check in.
I have a feeling that whatever room discounts are offered will be a greater savings for a 5 day trip for the two of us than “free dining.” Plus, it’s difficult to resist signature dining locations which are a terrible value on the dining plan. The refurbished california grill, jiko, and yachtsmen steakhouse are on our short list for our next trip.
I only wish there was a place (other than $$$$$ victoria and albert’s) as amazing as Dinseyland’s Napa Rose at WDW. The food at that place is on another level of awesome.
TOM I NEED TO KNOW WHY ARE MY COMMENTS DISSAPEARNING
I WANT TO LEAVE ON A SUNDAY WHAT DATES CAN I WANT TO GET DINNING PLEASE
I TOLD DISNEY 4 KIDS BUT BRINEING 8 CAN I GET DINNING FOR ALL 8
OH AND WHAT RESTERAUNT DO YOU RECCOMEND
My guess is that they’re getting caught by the spam filter because you’re typing in all caps.
Whether you’ll be able to do that depends upon how many rooms you’ll have. That many people in one room exceeds Disney’s allowance. In any case, you will absolutely need to call and get this straightened out with Disney before the trip.
Worth it for traveler going solo? I’ve had reservations with a AAA discount at POFQ for 9/29-10/5 since April. If worth it, is it too late to switch?
I’m no expert and I don’t want to overstep here, but I would say probably not. It would be worth it to take some time while you’re watching TV or whatever to investigate… It all depends on how much you eat and what you eat. You can look at menus and compare with the value of the dining plan–would you save any money? Would you save more than your current discount? I’d say unless you like expensive foods and eat dessert with every meal, you’re probably better off with your AAA discount.
Again, I could be completely off. Take a look on this site–Tom has done some great blogs about the dining plan. Sometimes it’s a good value, sometimes it isn’t. Typically with a single traveler, the value of the dining plan does not exceed other available discounts, IME.
Have a great trip!
Thank you, Annie. That was my hunch as well.
This will be my first attempt at using the Disney Dining Plan (going in late October). I have always done the math and found that it didn’t make sense for me. This time I am going with a group that is very excited about the free dining offer, and the overall numbers for the trip do seem to work out well. It will be interesting to see if I enjoy using the credits and if I find the limitations of the dining plan annoying or not.
Wish me luck!
for us, it’s a good deal when it’s “free”, although it makes us eat more than we otherwise would. But it is nice to use up your snack credits without gulping quite so much at paying $4-5 for a snack.
Hey there, I recognize your name from somewhere… LeBeau’s Blog? Right?
Anyway, yeah, it seems the more people in your party the more the Dining Plan can pay off. I also had it years ago before it changed and loved it… But anymore it’s just not a good value for me. It is so nice to not see your money disappearing all day when you eat. I think it’s a mental thing for lots of people. You don’t really “see” a room discount, but you do “see” the dining plan so it FEELS like you’re saving even if you really aren’t.
Can I get the free dining if I have a florida resident pass?
Hi Amelia, I don’t speak for Tom, but it is my understanding that Free Dining is only available with a Magic Your Way Package, so you wouldn’t be able to use any other discounts if you wanted Free Dining. You would have to take some time to see if Free Dining would save you more money than your Florida Resident Pass. For me, researching a trip is a lot of fun so this shouldn’t feel like work! There are some great posts on this blog about the dining plan that can get you started.
But like LeVar Burton always said on Reading Rainbow, “You don’t have to take MY word for it…!” Good luck!
I think that my boyfriend and I will be going to WDW at the end of August, but I am booking the air and hotel through Travelocity because it is a huge savings. Does anyone know if I would be able to still purchase the DDP separately since travelocity does not offer it? (We are staying at the park for 5 nights.)
Hi Emily…if you book your reservation through Travelocity you won’t be eligible for any dining plans…free or paid. It’s best to book a WDTC Package directly through Disney or an authorized travel agent. Just keep in mind if you book through a travel agent you can not make any changes to your reservation unless you go back to your travel agent. And if you do call in to book free dining definitely be prepared to be on hold for several hours the first day it comes out.
Husband got a PIN code for FRE DINING until Dec 13th on selected dates – this is ususally the head’s up that it will be offered to the general public soon 🙂
Yep, it is. Thanks for the heads up!
Can I still get the free dining even tho it’s expired? Do I call Disney directly? Planning a trip for the end of September.
We are booked for 1st week in October – hope it is extended! Keep us updated!
Can you tell us the dates the plan was offered for with the pin. We arrived Nov 9th last year and did not get the free dining plan because the block out dates ended the 10th.
Can I be so bold as to ask what the PIN is? We are actually going to be there too…..
The PINs can only be used once, and only by the guest it was sent to.
HELLO THERE !!! WE ARE STAYING AT PORT ORLEANS 11/10- 11/17 2012 !!!! WE WANT A FREE MEAL PLAN ALSO !!!! KEEP ME POSTED !!!! WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK !!! ????
Alison – we are going for 10 days around the same time, same hotel and am waiting to hear those magic your way words – FREE DINING!!!!!!!!!!! We need to pray it happens, lol. Keep me posted too!!!!!!!
I have it on good authority that there will be free dining offered soon for that time period.
We are also staying at Port Orleans Riverside around the 7th and are keeping a close lookout for the free dining! We went there the week of Dec 2 last year and the free dining plan was a HUGE savings for my family! Please Bring it for our dates this year Disney!!!! PLEASE!
How about the 1st, 2nd week of December. We are planning a trip at that time and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear those free dining words at that time too. What does you “good authority” say about that time, lol.
Does Disney ever extend the free dining plan? We’re going the beginning of August, and leaving before the 25th. Would be nice to be able to take advantage!
Good Morning !
Hoping to send some of my family down around Aug. 16 2012 and want to know if the free dining plan will be available.
Thank You
Added it to our reservation at 10am this morning. At that time, we got the very last available waterview room at Port Orleans Riverside with this promotion.
We found out it’s not available for standard rooms or the Riverview rooms.
Good advice to book fast!!
This is our first time getting the Free DDP! With 4 adults in one moderate room, we figure we’re saving almost $500 over a 7-night stay.
We were able to book a reservation at 9am PST for Port Orleans Riverside, and we received the Free DDP promotion with a standard room.
So it’s possible that they sold out the standards and riverviews by the time you called, Trisha.
You’re right — gotta book fast!!
I’m not too surprised by the rooms going that quickly. I’ve heard the same thing about other hotels.
This is why it pays to book something BEFORE “Free Dining” is announced and then having the discount applied once one becomes available. A travel agent can really come in handy when it comes to this.
If you have any additional questions or need help with the logistics of doing this, feel free to email my wife: [email protected]
Can 4 adults stay in 1 moderate room and get 4 adult meal passes? Hope so for your sake!

Tom,
Not sure you are right about booking a reservation before announcement. Most of what I’ve read says that Disney puts so many rooms in the Free Dining bucket and if you call, you get Free Dining if there is a room available. Having a room already doesn’t mean you have one available in that bucket, although it does mean you have a room guaranteed if you are concerned about availability regardless of Free Dining.
Many feel that pre-booking just encourages Disney that bookings are good, thus they don’t need to release Free Dining (or at least not many rooms).
Just my two cents.
Bruce
Hi Bruce,
I’ve heard conflicting reports on this. Disney advertises only so many rooms being available, and suggests that they are ‘set aside’ for this promotion. However, I’ve never heard of anyone having an issue “converting” their regular reservation to a Free Dining one. (This doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened, I just haven’t heard about it.) I know a lot of travel agents recommend booking and then adjusting, too.
I guess my perspective on it is that it’s “better safe than sorry.” With the tens of thousands of bookings Disney receives, I’m betting that a few pre-bookings don’t really alter their projections regarding whether bookings are good or bad. At least I hope not! 🙂
I understand… probably only Disney knows for sure regarding pre-books. Just figured I would point out the “other view” I had seen.
As far as not getting the “upgrade” to Free Dining, most people I’ve seen that had problems had made a booking at a hotel that had Free Dining in years past, but then wasn’t covered this year. Not sure about folks that had a booking in a covered hotel unable to get what they wanted, but betting on which resorts are included and which excluded can be dicey, it seems.
I just got through this morning to change an existing suite reservation at Art of Animation to include the free dining and it was sold out, so it is possible to not get the deal with an existing reservation, unfortunately. Super bummed as it would be nice to save that money.
I’m confused. I thought the article mentioned that Port Orleans did NOT include free dining, but the post said it was added? Please explain, my heart is set on staying at Port Orleans – French Quarter but I also want free dining.
Remember, there are two Port Orleans Resorts: French Quarter and Riverside. French Quarter almost NEVER has Free Dining, whereas Riverside sometimes does and sometimes doesn’t.
My fiance and I booked Port Orleans – French Quarter before we learned they hardly ever do Free Dining. We like Port Orleans the best but we really want the Free Dining. Do you think Riverside will have Free Dining this year? Should we risk it? Or change hotels to one that almost always has Free Dining? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Hi, it’s confirmed. Your sources are very reliable! The Port Orleans is included for arrivals from August 31-October 2.
I also was pre booked at WLCL and my Disney certified TA had has been told nothing is available. She’s been on the phone since 7:30 am and said the website crashed twice. I’m pretty disappointed as we are now facing harder to book ADRs and no discount to make up for it. Staying Novemember 15-21.
is this for 2016……..
2016?
Thought it said Free Dining NOT available at Port Orleans Riverside?/
What about Nov 6-11??
What about POR in November (6-11 specifically)??
I wish these comments posted dates… Are these comments in reference to 2015 free dining?
It would be helpful if you listed the date of your review, and the date of your stay
How did you hear about this promo? I just called WDW and they said it is not available yet
When did you book this?! I just called and they said nothing was available. … Tom, this may be a scam you might want to check.
Also, NO DATES in October?!? What is up with that ? 🙁
Hi Trisha! I can’t see a date stamp on your comment . Can you please tell me if you applied the promo for todays date? Thank you 🙂
