Our Best & Most Helpful Disney Blog Posts
Welcome to DisneyTouristBlog.com! We’ve noticed an influx of new readers recently, so we thought maybe introductions or reintroductions were appropriate. I’m Tom Bricker, the writer, photographer, editor, etc., and general mischief maker (together with my wife, Sarah) behind this blog. This blog is based on our first-hand experiences and opinions of things I encounter while my wife and I travel to the various Disney Parks around the world.
It’s hard to believe it, but this blog is over 6 years old. It’s basically a kindergartner, which is ironic, since it might seem like it’s written by one. It started out as a personal blog where we could organize our trip reports, some of my photography thoughts, and various other op/ed pieces, but has since grown far beyond that. It’s also arguably grown beyond the blog format, which can make it very difficult for new readers to find some of our older articles.
Hence this tour. This is meant to be a quick way for you to find some of our most popular and useful articles, organized by location. Heck, maybe even you regular readers will find something you missed.

Disneyland Posts
Being locals, we visit Disneyland on a fairly regular basis and update our info on even more frequent basis. Somewhat ironically, I first wrote my comprehensive Disneyland Resort Trip Planning Guide after we had only visited a couple of times, and it was primarily a post to implore Walt Disney World fans to visit Disneyland for the first time. A lot sure has changed since then! Here are some other key posts concerning Disneyland:

Tokyo Disney Resort Posts
Although Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are literally halfway around the world, they are my two favorite Disney Parks. I’ve visited several times and have written a ton of posts in the hopes that other Disney fans will travel to these great parks. My Tokyo Disney Resort Trip Planning Guide is a great starting point for planning, and these other posts are also helpful:

- Restaurant Reviews – I’ve dined at almost every restaurant in Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. I’m slowly building an index of reviews, which you can read here.
- Why Tokyo DisneySea is the Best Park – The post that will put the Japanese parks on your bucket list if they aren’t already there.
- Airfare Hack for a Multi-Stop Trip – There are a lot of little-understood airfare rules that can enable you to visit Aulani in Hawaii, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Tokyo Disney Resort all for the price of one flight!
Other Destinations
We cover almost every Disney Destination on this blog, but for some places, our coverage isn’t quite as comprehensive. Here are our noteworthy posts from other places:
- Disneyland Paris Trip Planning Guide – I’m currently a Disneyland Paris Annual Passholder, and this is my comprehensive guide to that resort, which is located just outside of Paris, France.
- Hong Kong Disneyland Trip Planning Guide – The smallest Disney resort in the world, and one that we feel is underrated. We’ve visited at Christmas and Halloween, and this covers our tips for visiting.

Your Thoughts
We’d love to hear your feedback. Which type of post on the blog do you like most? Which type do you like least? What would you like to see more of? Need help finding anything or answering a question you have about vacation planning? Any other thoughts, questions, or comments?
Hi Tom
I have loved reading your blogs – and many thanks for the great tips. I had 3 random questions that I was hoping you may be able to answer please. Firstly what type of purse/backpack can you have on you while on rides? I was planning to carry a small handbag or backpack with water and snacks and wanted to know if this was OK for the rides. Secondly, tipping is not a custom in my home country. Can you please advise what is an appropriate amount to tip housekeeping if you are staying about 6 days? And do you tip each day or just at the end- and where do you leave the money if you don’t see them? And finally we are spending 6 days at Art of Animation and wanted to spend probably our last day shopping or viewing other attractions in International Drive. Is there an easy way to get from our resort to these attractions without a car? I am also considerin if it would be better to check into a hotel on I Drive for the last night and use the free hotel shuttles? Any advice you have would be most appreciated ☺
I can’t remember how I found this blog, but it has been the source of so much information and inspiration over the past 18 months. Thanks to you we rented DVC points for our upcoming December trip (at what must be close to a 30% discount to our last trip). In fact, without having had such a terrific, well organised first visit last year, we would not be game to try a visit just before Christmas time. Thanks for taking the time to write such detailed opinions and honest reviews. It certainly keeps the holiday alive when you are home again, and makes planning my favourite pastime. Thanks also for the blogs on overseas resorts, super useful, and with such beautiful photography.
As for constructive criticism…….., this is hard, as I just love your blog. One thing does come to mind though, I was recently diagnosed as celiac and I was anxious about what the options would be for me at WDW (we live in Australia so I don’t have any experience of this in the U.S.). I had to search on other blogs for information on dining with allergies. I know that I am the minority, but perhaps this type of information could be added to your dining reviews?
I love all the trip reports so I’ll know exactly what I can expect if I can ever get to Tokyo! 🙂 The gorgeous photos are just the cherry on top.
I love reading your blog. I’m a big planner, and ‘need input’. 🙂
There really isn’t any type of article I don’t enjoy reading. I really like your writing style and your gorgeous photos. As long as you keep doing what you’re doing, I will be a loyal reader!
I came across the blog a few weeks back. It’s quirky and informative. I’m heading to Disney World in November for the first time in 20 years. I’m so excited. Your blog has helped our group with the planning of our trip. Keep up the good work! Cheers!!!
LOVE the blog! You are my go to for restaurant reviews. They are easy to find and I love the candid reviews! Thanks again for all the hard work you put in to keep it up! Some day I will be referencing you Tokyo information. I have already it all, but I will be planning a trip in the next couple of years.
Most: My favorite post is probably the packing list post. I studied it comprehensively for my first trip with my wife last year, and not only did I feel that it prepared us well, it also helped us get really excited for the trip. I also like trip reports and the DTB blueprint posts. Least: The WDW posts only because I’m unable to go there anytime soon and I get bitter and cynical because of how poor I am. But that’s 100% my problem and no one else’s, and I still fully support them being on the site since I know they’re helpful and interesting to others. I know the site focuses on the parks, but I’d actually be interested in seeing movie/blu ray reviews. Inside Out? Ant-Man? I just like reading about that kind of stuff. Keep up the great work Tom and Sarah.
I love your awesome photographs! I appreciate your photography tips and inspirations!
I love your blog and I share it with all my friends and family who are planning Disney trips! As a photographer, I got so much inspiration from you before our fall 2014 trip. My kids LOVE how many images I was able to capture in their favorite dark rides, of the parades and nighttime shows and just details around the park in general. I had lots and lots of good images after our trip in 2012 but mostly just of the kids playing and not as much of the details of the park. Using some of your tips and photos as inspiration, I was able to get a much more well-rounded series of images in 2014. We all love the photos of the architecture and attractions sans people just as much as we love the ones with us in them. Thank you again for sharing so many great photos and tips!
Just also wanted to tell you that the link you share here to the Photographer Guide post actually takes you to your DVC points post. I know I can get to the guide another way but thought you might want to know about that little link typo anyway. 🙂
Thanks again!
I love reading everything you post! Thank you for having great information!
I love the Disney Tourist Blog. Thank you for all the helpful articles. I just finished reading one about grocery delivery and will have groceries delivered on my Nov. trip to the World. This backpack would be great for carrying snacks around in the parks.
Gotta thank you! We begin our Orlando adventures tomorrow, and your blog posts have been a great help for research and prep! You made quite a difference for us-thanks!
i love your restaurant reviews really helped us at star wars weekend!
Lots of great ideas here. You have really helped me plan my trip to Disney World.
Thank you for all your hard work! Love reading your blog!
I love your blog so much and have been visiting it frequently for 2 years or so now. My favourite things are reading the trip reports (and your photos) but finished reading all these a long time ago!
Am I being silly or have you removed the link to these now? I guess it makes sense to focus more on the reviews and tips etc but I do think maybe a lot of people on here don’t get to go to the parks as often as you do so really like reading posts to live vicariously though you! I know they probably take a lot of time to write but maybe each time you go on a trip there could be a summary post of what you have been up to etc?
I also love the posts on rumours etc and your state of DL/WDW posts.
I hope that’s helpful and doesn’t come across negative at all because I really do love your blog! It’s even inspired me to start my own with trip reports! x
I think you might be in the middle of changing the site? As every time I refresh or click on a link it looks different and I saw a link to the trip reports to the left so I was being silly. Sorry!
I love every post! (Almost)
I found them really helpful before I returned to Disney World again.
And I want to go to Tokyo Disney now and will use your blogs to help plan my trip!
I love the planning tips!
I’ve been stalking you for a while now. I love your food tips, photography, and Sarah’s style. I like your snarky take on things and your snobby dining critiques 🙂 Your Seinfeld references kill me. Congrats on 4 years!
