Disney Restaurant Reviews

Our restaurant reviews offer food photos, menu info & tips, and recommendations on what to order at 300+ counter and table service dining spots at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Tokyo, Paris, and beyond. We cover best & worst meals, value for money, and more to help you choose where to eat based upon theme, ambiance, cuisine & cost. (Updated February 23, 2025.)

Below you’ll find a regularly updated index with links to every Disney restaurant we’ve ever reviewed. It covers all of the most recent additions at the domestic and international Disney Parks, including Cake Bake Shop, Tiana’s Palace, Toy Story Roundup Rodeo BBQ, Space 220 Restaurant, La Taverne de Gaston, plus Royal Banquet of Arendelle and Snuggly Duckling in Fantasy Springs.

Over a dozen new Disney restaurants have opened recently and more are on the way in 2025 and beyond. This is especially true at Disneyland, where the Downtown Disney reimagining has yielded a number of new and reimagined restaurants. By contrast, Walt Disney World is largely in between redevelopment cycles, and nothing new is expected in 2025. Still, we’ll continue to revisit restaurants as menus change, and will add new reviews of these restaurants and updates on other locations.

Essentially, this is a look at every Walt Disney World and Disneyland restaurant we’ve ever reviewed, plus Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and Aulani restaurants. Each review starts with a description of the restaurant, useful info, interior photos and thoughts on theme, followed by food photos and reviews of each item we tried. Each review concludes with out overall impressions, pros and cons of the restaurant, and whether we’d recommend it.

We have dined at hundreds of different Disney restaurants in the last few years–literally–more unique Disney restaurants than any other reviewers. That’s probably not something to boast about, but we’re proud, nonetheless. Moreover, we think this wide range of experience at Disney’s global parks, and not just Walt Disney World and Disneyland, gives us better perspective.

A couple things to note. First, we strongly value atmosphere and theme, and focus on these two characteristics pretty heavily in our reviews. To us, themed design is one advantage Disney has over real world restaurants. Most Disney restaurants will not measure up to real world counterparts in terms of cuisine or pricing. Thematically, they are second to none, though.

Moreover, these restaurants are graded on a curve relative to other dining in their respective parks. As compared to ‘real world’ restaurants, most options in the Disney parks are overpriced for the cuisine quality. However, you pay a premium for the location, convenience, and thematic attention to detail.

What we do not do is offer faint praise to every single item we eat, or every restaurant. There’s a lot of bad food in the Disney parks, and we will offer our genuine impressions of what is not worth your time or limited stomach space. You can find no shortage of sites that offer nothing but effusive praise and think all things Disney are amazing. This is not one of those sites.

Nevertheless, reasonable minds may differ with regard to the same restaurant. This is a big reason why we encourage readers to offer their feedback in reply to each review–and you’ll find a lot of good (and also unbiased) crowd-sourced info in the comments section.

With that said, click each restaurant name to read our full review of the restaurant. In them, you’ll find commentary about theme, atmosphere, and cuisine quality. Or you can just ‘vote with your eyes’ and browse through the food photos of different items that each restaurant serves.

We will be making return visits to many of these restaurants throughout the year, with character dining experiences being a big focus for 2025. Admittedly, some of the reviews below are a bit older, so check back throughout the year for updates–unlike Chef Mickey’s, we’re trying our best to keep everything fresh!

That covers all of the restaurants we’ve reviewed thus far!

You probably noticed that this page includes links to only restaurant reviews. We have a wide variety of other dining resources, including where to eat to maximize your savings on the Disney Dining Plan, where the best cupcakes, steaks, etc. are found, and a myriad of “Top 10” dining lists. In many cases, these resources are more helpful than the reviews themselves. To find these resources for your destination, be sure to check out our Walt Disney World Restaurant Reviews & Resources or our Disneyland Resort Restaurant Reviews & Resources. Both of those pages include links to reviews, plus the other resources.

This is just a partial listing of the restaurants at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and beyond, at which we’ve dined thus far. We have a lot more reviews coming soon, especially from the non-US parks. Even if you don’t plan on ever visiting the international parks, we think it can be fun to see the unique Disney theming that each offer, as well as the sometimes unfamiliar (and sometimes very familiar!) cuisine, so make sure to read those reviews, too. Just be careful…you might find yourself wanting to visit those parks, too!

Check back often as we update this list with more favorites. We also recommend looking through and searching the menus of different Disney restaurants to see what might appeal to you, because there are a lot of choices.

    1. Good call. Removed that, as well as Cove Bar, which was also still up there by mistake. Thanks!

  1. I just came back to Disney after 30 years away: Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Magical Kingdom. Everything we ordered, though on the expensive side like in all theme parks, was without fail solid, tasty, nutritious, sized just right, and worth the money. Usually you pay a lot and get garbage. I was pleased that the kid meals included fruits and vegetables, and there were vegetarian options in both kid and adult meals. I love the variety of food available. Disney does such a good job.

    1. Sorry to hitch a ride on your post , but as u have been recently do u know if there is an offer for free dining in 2020 please

    2. Disney doesn’t announce the “free” dining this far in advance. The one for 2019 was a short-term availability announced in February 2019

  2. Absolutely obsessed with your blog! Was wondering if we could get a Mama Melrose review? Also found out Bistro de Paris was shut down 🙁 replaces by Monsieur Paul

    1. We’ll revisit Mama Melrose after Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens. I suspect they’ll change up the menu around that time, so it’ll be good for a fresh visit then.

I’ve removed Bistro de Paris from the list–had no idea it was still on there, so thanks!

  3. Just ate at the Chicken Guy in Disney Springs. A lot like Chik-filet only better. Chicken was tender and delicious. Mac n cheese needed a little salt (they don’t have salt or pepper, but give you a dish of Guy’s seasoning, which is money to quote Guy). French fries were awesome, and you get to choose two sauces – Liked the hot Memphis, my wife loved the garlic parmesan. All in all worth the 23$ for two.

  4. Hi Tom, love your blog. Does anyone know where someone on a restricted diet due to kidney failure can eat at Disney World?

  5. I love these places, when they make a cafe in the style of a cartoon or a movie, or the whole universe, as in the case of Disney. But, I have heard bad reviews about these places, that they have poor standards of service and very high prices. There are also many inconsistencies with the menu. Unfortunately, I personally did not visit such Disney cafes, but I really want to do it, because I am a teacher in a culinary school and I can objectively assess the standard of their cooking, and I wonder whether it is so bad in these cafes as my friends say.

    1. Hi disney gods. Going to disney april and purchased the counter plan . i have a vegitarian and a beige fussy eater and me eat anything.

      1. Am i wasting my time as the choices are resticted?

      2. Can i find the menus on line so i can see what will work for me?

      3. At counter locations are they willing to go off piste for example can i have plain pasta with cheese ? Or is it whats on offer or nothing?

  6. Has anyone eaten at Captain Jack’s at Disneyland Paris? The reviews on trip advisor are good and bad.

  7. How is Mickey’s Backyard BBQ show and food? I am going to Disney in Oct and thought this would be good for the night we arrive. Is it worth the money?

  8. Wondering what the prices are of the items listed for their dining packages when it comes to 2 quick service meals and 2 snacks a day per person. Are the meals regularly $10 a piece or like $15 a piece? and these snacks are they like $3 snacks or $10 for a bag of chips/snack?
    Thanks in advance?
Also can I purchase this separately or do i have to do it as a package deal as i book my vacation?

  9. I have been eaten the kosher food in the park at Disney Anaheim CA. This food is made for a catering company in Florida and is not produced or manufactured by Disney
The food is bad. The lasagna is almost noodles and a few carrots with two side dishes of corn ?!?!
The chicken is dry, the pizza is like rubber. The chocolate cake is dry and I can continue on and on. I would like to recommend an update in the kosher options Last, when I’m going to the cashier the kosher options on her screen have no to much to do with what I’m taking. You should update that since your kosher menus didn’t change in years. Looking forward for a change for good. Thank you

  10. Hi Tom,
Your review of Tony’s Town Square is actually linking to your review of Saana.

  11. Hi,

We are looking at booking at the Polynesian for mid to end of Aug 2018 and were wondering if the Deluxe dining plan would be Free at this time. It was when we went a few years ago…that would save our family of 5 about $3.3-4K.
    Any ideas when that starts?

    Thanks,
    Sandy

  12. Hey Tom,
we are going to DW at the end of Jan 2018 and are staying at the Contemporary, I had a question about in room dining. 2 of the days we will be there we plan on be up and at the parks very early and were wanting to just have breakfast in our rooms ( I have a 2yr and a 5yr so getting ready can be crazy) Do you know when you have to order or how far in advance it can be done? Or do you suggest something else? I have been to DW many times but we have never had room service so I have no idea how it works.

  13. I have one table service left to complete my dining plan for next year’s trip. Where should I use it: Tusker House (Animal Kingdom) or somewhere in Hollywood Studios? Or another hotel? Planning to pay out of pocket per your advice at Epcot for Via Napoli.

  14. Any recommendations on eating without dining plan in MK and AK?
I thought about getting but when i tried booking at the restaurants i wanted they were all booked up so thinking no point in buying it. Just not to overpriced sit down you now of? I am taking my 19 year old and my 9 year old so we could probably share also. thanks.

  15. Is it normal for Disney to limit reservations on dining? Our travel agent was up and calling at 7am this morning trying to get us reservations (website has been down for days), and she only got us in one place! She said this has never happened before. We are going December 10-15, which she said isn’t a super busy time for everything to be booked solid.

  16. I have a few questions and am hoping someone can advise;
We have purchased the dining plan. We will be in WDW 12/10 they 12/16
    1) If at some point on my trip our 9 yr. olds wishe to order from the adult menu, may they and then we could pay the difference, or is this just a no-no?
    2) we pushed our vacation back farther then we had hoped in order to be past 180 days out so we could try to book Be Our Guest, we still couldn’t get a reservation. Any advise on how we still might?
    3) Is Dessert on the Terrace worth the cost? What is the cost? When will this become available for reservations?
    4) I signed up for emails and can’t figure out how to order the Christmas e-book.
