Disney Restaurant Reviews

Our restaurant reviews offer food photos, menu info & tips, and recommendations on what to order at 300+ counter and table service dining spots at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Tokyo, Paris, and beyond. We cover best & worst meals, value for money, and more to help you choose where to eat based upon theme, ambiance, cuisine & cost. (Updated February 23, 2025.)

Below you’ll find a regularly updated index with links to every Disney restaurant we’ve ever reviewed. It covers all of the most recent additions at the domestic and international Disney Parks, including Cake Bake Shop, Tiana’s Palace, Toy Story Roundup Rodeo BBQ, Space 220 Restaurant, La Taverne de Gaston, plus Royal Banquet of Arendelle and Snuggly Duckling in Fantasy Springs.

Over a dozen new Disney restaurants have opened recently and more are on the way in 2025 and beyond. This is especially true at Disneyland, where the Downtown Disney reimagining has yielded a number of new and reimagined restaurants. By contrast, Walt Disney World is largely in between redevelopment cycles, and nothing new is expected in 2025. Still, we’ll continue to revisit restaurants as menus change, and will add new reviews of these restaurants and updates on other locations.

Essentially, this is a look at every Walt Disney World and Disneyland restaurant we’ve ever reviewed, plus Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and Aulani restaurants. Each review starts with a description of the restaurant, useful info, interior photos and thoughts on theme, followed by food photos and reviews of each item we tried. Each review concludes with out overall impressions, pros and cons of the restaurant, and whether we’d recommend it.

We have dined at hundreds of different Disney restaurants in the last few years–literally–more unique Disney restaurants than any other reviewers. That’s probably not something to boast about, but we’re proud, nonetheless. Moreover, we think this wide range of experience at Disney’s global parks, and not just Walt Disney World and Disneyland, gives us better perspective.

A couple things to note. First, we strongly value atmosphere and theme, and focus on these two characteristics pretty heavily in our reviews. To us, themed design is one advantage Disney has over real world restaurants. Most Disney restaurants will not measure up to real world counterparts in terms of cuisine or pricing. Thematically, they are second to none, though.

Moreover, these restaurants are graded on a curve relative to other dining in their respective parks. As compared to ‘real world’ restaurants, most options in the Disney parks are overpriced for the cuisine quality. However, you pay a premium for the location, convenience, and thematic attention to detail.

What we do not do is offer faint praise to every single item we eat, or every restaurant. There’s a lot of bad food in the Disney parks, and we will offer our genuine impressions of what is not worth your time or limited stomach space. You can find no shortage of sites that offer nothing but effusive praise and think all things Disney are amazing. This is not one of those sites.

Nevertheless, reasonable minds may differ with regard to the same restaurant. This is a big reason why we encourage readers to offer their feedback in reply to each review–and you’ll find a lot of good (and also unbiased) crowd-sourced info in the comments section.

With that said, click each restaurant name to read our full review of the restaurant. In them, you’ll find commentary about theme, atmosphere, and cuisine quality. Or you can just ‘vote with your eyes’ and browse through the food photos of different items that each restaurant serves.

We will be making return visits to many of these restaurants throughout the year, with character dining experiences being a big focus for 2025. Admittedly, some of the reviews below are a bit older, so check back throughout the year for updates–unlike Chef Mickey’s, we’re trying our best to keep everything fresh!

You probably noticed that this page includes links to only restaurant reviews. We have a wide variety of other dining resources, including where to eat to maximize your savings on the Disney Dining Plan, where the best cupcakes, steaks, etc. are found, and a myriad of “Top 10” dining lists. In many cases, these resources are more helpful than the reviews themselves. To find these resources for your destination, be sure to check out our Walt Disney World Restaurant Reviews & Resources or our Disneyland Resort Restaurant Reviews & Resources. Both of those pages include links to reviews, plus the other resources.

This is just a partial listing of the restaurants at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and beyond, at which we’ve dined thus far. We have a lot more reviews coming soon, especially from the non-US parks. Even if you don’t plan on ever visiting the international parks, we think it can be fun to see the unique Disney theming that each offer, as well as the sometimes unfamiliar (and sometimes very familiar!) cuisine, so make sure to read those reviews, too. Just be careful…you might find yourself wanting to visit those parks, too!

Check back often as we update this list with more favorites. We also recommend looking through and searching the menus of different Disney restaurants to see what might appeal to you, because there are a lot of choices.

  1. Hi Tom,

I’m a Dvc member, as I believe you are also after reading through your site. So since my room and tickets are basically covered my concern is usually trying to get the best bang out of my buck, as everyone else is with food. I read your dining tips and they are logical but there are a few aspects about dining that you may have overlooked. Disney charges 10 year olds and above as an adult so if you have 2 children that are young there is now way they can possible devour enough food to justify the cost of a Disney dining plan. I believe the 2 counter service meals, 1 snack and a hotel mug is almost $45.00. Let’s say you find them a $5.00 snack and a $10.00 breakfast can the eat a $30.00 dinner. Highly unlikely. We go for 11 nights so that plan would cost almost $2000.00. By my calculation I believe I can cut that in half. Also as we both know Disney piles on the food so some meals can be shared by 2 people. Personally I’m 6’0″ tall 158 pounds and train like a maniac for Spartan races so I’m not in the habit of eating more food than I need to sustain myself. I believe the ddp is suited more towards people that might be in the habit of over eating.

  2. Tom,
Devoted reader here. Thanks for what you modestly call subjective reviews that are actually more honest and objective than those on many other sites.
The many comments from knowledgeable visitors are very helpful too, but is there any way you could stamp blog posts and comments with at least the month and year written? As we all know, menus, events, policies, and prices change so frequently at WDW. Good tips or suggestions even a year old are frequently (usually, maybe) outdated and can lead to disappointment.
    Keep up the good work!

  3. Hi, Tom – I’m looking to book dinner at one of the table service restaurants in the Mexican pavilion when we hit Epcot on an upcoming trip, but I noticed you’ve not reviewed either one. Should I assume they are equally good, or avoid them like the Plague? (I know it’s not the trickiest or most complex of cuisines, but I’m wondering if there is perhaps a reason you’ve avoided them?)

  4. Hello from Wisconsin!
Any suggestions on a character meal that is not in a park? I want to have a character dinner the day we arrive. This will be a first visit for my husband, mother in law, and 2 children (4,6) so I want our first night to be memorable. I was thinking Chef Mickeys, but now I’m not so sure after reading the reviews/comments.
Thanks for the help, I love your blog!

  5. We have used the Dining Plan and it is amazing! Our trip to Disney Orlando was great and we have eaten a lot!

  6. Hi Tom. I noticed that some of your more recent reviews – Boathouse, Skipper Canteen, etc. – are not linked to this index. Not a big deal, as one can simply search for them, but thought I’d mention it. I knew they existed because I’m a regular (i.e. obsessed) reader of your site…but new visitors might not. Thanks for always being so candid in your reviews (and not just drinking the Kool-aid). There are very few other reviewers whose opinions I trust and consult time and again when planning my Disney vacations.

    1. Yeah, this is one page I really need to update soon. There’s a decent amount missing. Thanks for the heads up!

  7. Really nice site. On this Dining Review page, it might be helpful to include your rating number next to each listing. It takes away some mystery before clinking the link, but if I were going to or at the park, it would be easier to do a quick search…

  8. What are the “must dos” for a 7yr old girl? Thinking Chef Mickey and Cinderella Royal table. Any others? Going the week after Easter, will I still be able to get in if I book soon?

  9. Dining, we are not big eaters but I have a 7yr old so we want to do the character dinner, breakfast etc. probably 3 or 4 special meals (one with a show). Is it worth signing up for the dining plan? The medium plan will cost the 3 of us (hubby, 7yr and self) about $150 a day. Additional dilema, staying in a villa with family (7-8 in all), 7 nights in villa with a kitchenette and paying $150 even the days not at the parks but I believe everyone in the room has to be on the plan or no one. How much are the character dinners/show dinners if u r not on a dining plan? Thanks for the help.

  10. This is a great resource but my scientific brain would love to se it in a tabular format with the scores and type of service as columns and then links to the reviews. If I’m asking for something that’s already on the site, could you please point me in the right direction?

  11. Last XMAS we also ate at Biergarten in Germany. What a disappointment. I realize that XMAS is one of the most crowded times of the year, but we had reservations and had to wait 45 minutes in a single line just to check in. That is right, we had to wait with walk ups just to let them know we were here for our reservation. that set the tone for a very bad experience.

Once we were finally in, 1.5 hours after our reservation time, it was an okay experieince, no where near the hype. We also missed a fast pass reservation due to their poor setups.

Will not go back – 4.0 pts

  12. I would like to give a comment about Teppan Edo. We ate there last XMAS in a party of 5 and new we would be grouped with others, no problem. The “show” was very good, but the quality of the food was terrible. Scallops did not taste fresh, but frozen. Way TOO MUCH salt used in every dish.

Very disapointed in that choice – 6.5/10

    1. Thanks for the feedback on Teppan Edo. I’ve heard VERY mixed things about that place as of late, sadly.

  13. Will you be reviewing the Rose and Crown anytime soon? I keep seeing mixed reviews and I’d love your take on it for dinner.

  14. Hi! As always your reviews are so helpful!! Have you guys tried Monsieur Paul, Nine Dragons or San Angel?

    Thanks!

  15. Nice reviews. We have comparable tastes in food even if our ages are a couple of decades different! I noticed you haven’t tried any of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants. You should try Todd English’s BlueZoo. I suspect you will add it to your top 5 list!

  16. Thanks for the great resource! Do you have guidelines around reservations at the various restaurants. Are they always needed or are there some places where you could walk up and not have to wait for hours?

  17. Hi Tom

Just a question about the waffles and fried chicken you have on this page. I’ve been to Disneyland, many times and never actually seen nor had these before. Can you please tell me where in Disneyland aswell as WDW I can find these? I’m off to Disneyland next month and WDW next year and I need to eat some of these ASAP 🙂

    Thank you
